Chapter 18

Caroline's POV

I was preparing to go downstairs where the party was starting, I heard people coming in which made me nervous because I almost don't know anybody... I put the long baby-pink dress and heels then I went to the bathroom and put some light makeup that almost wasn't visible and then I took a deep breath and went downstairs, where everyone was it.

When I was walking down the stairs and realized that Klaus stop talking to a girl and just stared at me as some other guys that I didn't know and Marcel (but he didn't had any idea of who I was). I thought that Klaus was going to talk to me but he just gave me a smile and go back to talk to the other girl.

"Hello! Do we know each other?" Marcel asked me with a smirk.

"I don't believe so..." I said smiling.

"I guess we better get that over it... I'm Marcel, Niklaus's protégé." He said with his usual smirk.

"Nice to met you. I am Caroline."

"The pleasure is all mine." He said planting a kiss in my hand, making me smile.

"What do you think about you get me a drink?" I asked him and he smirk to me.

"Of course" he said and he took 2 cups of champagne, then we drink while looking at each other but I felt bad because champagne was kind of my thing with Klaus.

"How do you know the Originals? If I might know..." He said.

"I am an old friend of the family." I said and he nodded, then start to talk to me about how he was the king of this city for years but I didn't pay much attention because I was seeing Klaus dancing with that girl that I didn't knew from anywhere, and for how much I tried not to see I couldn't because they were behind Marcel and if I didn't look at Marcel, Klaus would think it was because I was jealous and I am surely not jealous.

"Do you give me the honor of this dance?" He asked me and I smiled then we went dancing near Klaus and that girl he was with. I danced with Marcel and he made me laugh sometimes, then the song changed and Klaus appeared.

"Can I stole your partner for a dance?" Klaus asked Marcel.

"Of course." He said and went dancing with the girl Klaus was dancing with, then Klaus just looks at me with a smirk.

"Can I have the honor of dancing with you?"

"I don't know, if your friend doesn't mind" I said

"Is jealousy that I am hearing?" He asked while wrapping his strong arms in my waist, making me be closer to him and I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"You wish" I said trying to hide my emotions.

"Whatever you say, love" he whispered to my ear and I rest my head in his shoulder, then whispered "I really missed dancing with you."

"I missed dancing with you too." I said getting my head up so I would look at him in the eye and he smiled, not a cocky smirk or something like that, it was a genuine smile which made me smile too.

After the song ended Marcel walked over to us and dance with me while Klaus was talking with his girl but whatever, it's not like I care... Yes, you do, a voice in my head said.

"Do you and Klaus have a past or something like that?" Marcel asked me while we were dancing making me look at him surprised about his question.

"No." I said trying to seem natural. "Why do you ask that?"

"Because I realized that Klaus has been staring at us for almost the entire time we were together."

"Well, I don't know why he has been doing that but I don't care, I'm here for having a good time." I said smiling and he nodded with a smirk.

Everybody went home and I realized that Klaus wasn't in here which made me feel jealous of that girl and I don't know why because she's not that good looking, however she was enough to Klaus go out with her and he probably is making out with her to not think worse. I need to stop thinking about it, in the day we want to have a serious relationship we tell the other to end what we have, it's the plan and until now he didn't say anything but something inside me felt revolted by the thought of him have a one-night stand with that girl.
