Connie POV
"Are we almost there?" (F/n) whined for the sixth time.
"No." I sighed in response.
"Oh, boo. How far does this Steven kid live?"
"Well, he lives on the beach with his... Friends. We're almost there." I told (F/n).
"You mean that beach?" (F/n) asked.
"Yeah," I replied. "Let's go!" And I ran ahead of her, excitement bubbling in my stomach.
Your POV
"Connie- Wait up!" I shouted, trying to catch up. When I arrived, I saw Connie talking with a sort of chubby boy. He was kind of cute in a way. He had black puffy hair and simply wore a red-pink t-shirt that had a star in it's center, jeans, and pink sandals.
"Is that (F/n)?" the boy asked, tilting his head to the side.
"Yep. (F/n), Steven. Steven, (F/n)." Connie introduced us. She's much more outgoing around Steven.
"Hello." I politely greeted Steven. I stuck my hand out for him to shake. He gladly shook it.
"Hi! I'm Steven. You're Connie's cousin, right?" I nodded, still a bit shy, like I was with Connie.
"I came from New York. Beach City is really... Different."
Steven laughed. "Well how do you like it so far?" he asked.
"I just got here today, so I haven't got to explore most of the town yet." I explained. "Maybe Steven and I could show you around?" Connie offered.
"Oh, sure." I smiled and shrugged, accepting the offer. Steven grinned. "Well, lets go!"
Steven and Connie showed me around. It was mostly Steven talking though. There were many places Steven liked to go. Like the Big Donut, Fish Stew Pizza, and Fun Land.
Along with more walking and introducing me to people, Steven and Connie told me more about themselves. Apparently, Steven was part of "The Crystal Gems", along with his friends, Pearl, Amethyst, and Garnet, who saved the day from gem-mutant monsters. There was also someone named "Peridot" who was staying with the Crystal Gems to help them defeat the cluster, was it? The guy was cute, but I don't think I'd believe all that.
Connie and Steven met about a year ago, when Steven accidentally trapped her in a bubble. "Yeah. It was an accident because I haven't gotten the hang of using my bubbles yet. They come out of my gem, see? Just like my weapon, a shield!" Steven told me happily. Just then, had I realized there was a pink gem stuck where his belly button should be. My eyes widened.
"Um... (F/n)?" Connie asked, waving a hand over my face.
"Is that thing... Real?" I muttered. Steven blinked.
"Huh? I can't quite hear- What are you doing?"
I had poked Steven's "gem". "AHHH! IT'S REAL!" I screamed, causing bypassers' eyes to look at me oddly. They shrugged and moved along. "I-I mean, uh..."
"You didn't believe me?" Steven asked, a bit offended.
"Of course not! I thought you guys were insane!" Connie looked at me, hurt. I realized what I just said.
"L-look, I'm sorry, alright? I'm just not used to this... Kind of thing." I mumbled. Connie sighed.
"It's fine. I was confused too."
Steven nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I forgive you. Everyone just rolls with it usually. Well, that's about the end of your tour. I gotta introduce you to the gems, and after that, my dad~!" Steven chirped. Steven and Connie led me back to the beach, and we walked along it until I saw a giant statue of a strange woman, with a small beach house on the bottom.
"Whoa." I whispered to myself. Steven opened the door.
"M'ladies." he giggled and bowed. "Why thank you, kind sir!" Connie joked and walked in. I looked through the door before walking in. Looking over to Steven, I noticed he still had a smile plastered onto his face. I chuckled and went in after Connie.
"Nice place." I remarked.
"Thank you." Steven said. "Sooo, where are the... Gems? I can call them the Gems right?" I asked.
"Yes, yes you can. Also, they're on a mission, sorry. But Peridot is still locked in the bathroom. She only lets me in..." Steven chuckled.
"Connie didn't meet her yet. Wanna meet her?"
I looked at Connie, and she looked at me.
"YES!" we both yelled.
"Alright, follow me." Steven said, leading us to his bathroom. Seriously, out of all places, his bathroom. How can he not use the bathroom or shower without privacy? It must be really weird. At least it would be for me.
Steven knocked on the door. There was no answer. "Peridot, it's me." Steven called out, loud enough for Peridot to hear him. Peridot opened the door slightly, but closed it quickly when she realized Connie and I were with him.
"Who are those clods?!" Peridot hissed. "These are my friends! Connie and (F/n)." Steven explained.
"Is the Connie and the (F/n) another species?" Peridot muttered. Steven sighed.
"Um... No... They're part of the human race. Like me."
"Are they in any way connected to gems?" Peridot asked.
"Well, (F/n) is related to Connie, and they both are friends with me, and the Crystal Gems are my friends. Does that count?"
"I suppose so. What kind of technology does the... Connie and (F/n) contain?" Oh, boy. Peridot was nuts, I'll tell you that.
"Well, I have my phone, and so does Connie. Steven probably does too." I told her.
"What is this... Phone device you speak of?" Peridot grew curious.
Connie winked at me. I gave her a confused look. She ignored my confusion. "Well, you have to come out to see." Peridot muttered something angrily that I couldn't make out.
The door creaked and a few seconds later, revealed a strangely... Cute little green gem. I gasped. Connie stared at Peridot in awe. "Oh my gosh, Steven... She's so..."
"CUTE~!" I squealed. (Note from Chryssi-chan: I'm so sorry if you're not a Peri-dorito fan... Because I am. *puts on badass glasses*)
Peridot glared at me. "I AM NOT 'CUTE'!" she screeched. "You said you would show me this... Phone device." she snarled. I nodded.
"Yeah, here." I handed her my (f/c) cell phone. She snatched it from me and ran back inside of the bathroom.
"Peridot!" Steven, Connie, and I shouted in unison.
"Have fun trying to get your little... 'Phone' back! MWAHAHAHAHA!" Peridot snickered. I banged loudly on the door.
"GIVE IT BACK!" I screamed.
"What's so special about this gadget anyway? Is it some sort of communication device?"
"Well yes- But-"
"I CAN CONTACT YELLOW DIAMOND!" Peridot exclaimed and from the loud clanging and thunking noises, I could tell she was doing a weird victory dance.
Connie sighed. "Don't worry, (F/n). You could always borrow my phone. It's kind of out-dated compared to (whatever company you use; e.g.: Apple, Verizon) though." I shook my head.
"No! You have no idea what I store in there! All the apps... Everything! IT'S BASICALLY MY LIFE AND SOUL!" I cried. Okay, maybe I was exaggerating, but you get the idea.
Connie rolled her eyes and sighed. "Seriously...?"
Word count: 1,157 words.
Note from Chryssi-chan: Sorry, I'm a terrible writer, and I didn't think it would be this long... Dang, also sorry for the long wait on a new chapter. I was too focused on school and Steven's Birthday Week.
