(F/n) POV
Connie and I were sitting by the lighthouse behind the temple, telling jokes, because why the hell not? "Okay, I got one," I giggled.
"A frog jumps in front of a lawnmower," I paused to look at Connie, who burst out laughing. I looked at her confused.
"I DIDNT EVEN TELL IT YET!"
She chuckled, "I'm sorry, it was the tension."
Rolling my eyes, I smirked. "Alright, anyway... A frog jumps in front of a lawn mower. I guess he wanted to... Kermit suicide." (MY FRIEND TOLD ME THIS- I JUST HAD TO)
We both burst out laughing like a bunch of idiots. Suddenly my stomach growled. Connie poked my stomach. "Hey!" I pouted, blushing.
"You hungry?" she asked.
I shrugged. "Maybe just a little. I could go for a snack." I replied.
"Well, I can get us some donuts from the Big Donut." Connie offered. I felt a little bad making Connie have to go buy donuts, but hey, food is food. (THAT IS ME RIGHT THERE. I AM SORRY)
"Sounds good! (F/f) (Favorite flavor), please~!" I told my cousin happily.
"Done. See you in a few!" Connie laughed and jogged away. I grinned to myself. Connie was a nice person.
Pulling out my phone, I opened up the app, Neko Atsume, to check on my cats. (I JUST FREAKING LOVE THAT GAME~!) "Oi, looks like Snowball paid me a visit." I giggled as I refilled the bowl of food. After tapping the home button, you saw a text from Connie.
'Hey, (F/n)! I'm heading back after Sadie finishes the donuts. They ran out of (F/f), but I insisted, so it will take a bit longer than expected... It'll probably take about fifteen minutes'
'Okie. Hurry back plz. I'm kinda getting hungry XD'
'Lol'
I ended up waiting for about thirty minutes. "This is taking forever." I mumbled to myself. That's it. I'm texting Connie.
'Baaabeee. (I call my friends babe all the time. That's not weird, is it?) Y r u taking so long? QnQ'
'OMG, Im so sorry. I was talking with Steven. I'll come over in 5 I swear'
'Nah... I'll just meet you there. I wanna say hi anyway'
Well, I was lying and telling the truth at the same time. I did want to say hi, but I wanted to make sure that Steven and Connie start making out or something.
No, I am not jealous.
'Ok. I got your donut btw. Sorry if it's cold... OnO'
'Psh. I eat cold pizza, it wouldn't affect me. (I EAT COLD PIZZA)'
'Alrighty. C u soon'

I felt slightly disappointed that Connie has been hanging out with Steven without me, but who am I kidding? She's prettier than me, smarter than me, plus she's younger than me, which means I'll probably die like a year before her. Unless she gets hit by a bus.
I'm weird.
Welp, I should get going to the Big Donut.

Steven Universe POV
Recently, I have been trying to impress Connie, so of course, well... That's what I'm doing right now. Amethyst told me to try and show off, while Pearl told me not to... Garnet told me to be myself, and Peridot said she couldn't care any less. So I'm confused.
"So, I've been recently working out..." I told Connie. "Really?"
"Yeah..."
"But, Steven, we already work out almost everyday in training, remember?
"Oh, uh, yeah."
There was a long awkward silence. I couldn't take it anymore.
"FEEL MY MUSCLES."
"Uh, what...?"
(Chryssi-chan: STEVEN. YOU SCREWED UP)
"U-uh... Nevermind! When is (F/n) getting here anyway?" I stammered, trying to change the subject.
"I dunno." Connie replied, "Her donut is getting cold."
"Anyways, Connie... I-I've been meaning to tell you that..."
Connie looked at me curiously, leaning forward.
"I really like..."
Suddenly, I heard a small speak from behind me. I turned around to see (F/n) with a pained expression. "(F/n)!" Connie gasped.
"Uh... It's nothing!" (F/n) mumbled and ran off, into the direction of her house. "Sorry Steven, gotta go, bye!" Connie exclaimed and sprinted after (F/n), leaving (F/n)'s donut on the table. Mental note: Return the donut to (F/n).
Aw, man! I was so close to confessing to Connie. Maybe I should see what the problem was tomorrow. It's getting pretty late anyway. But what if (F/n) got hurt physically? I should probably check on her. Wait no... Yeah, the gems would worry about me, so I should probably visit tomorrow.
