Chapter 8: Steven's Birthday p3

     (F/n) POV

Right now, I was just listening to the gems' and Mr. Universe's conversation. But honestly, I was just... Bored.

"Guys! Guys! Steven! He's..." she wheezed and paused to take a breath. She seemed to be holding something. Her shirt muffled the cries of... A baby?

"We were just talking then all of a sudden-"

"He turned back into a baby?!" Pearl gasped.

"YES!" Connie shouted.

Amethyst took baby Steven. "Dude... I told you... Stretching your body out for that long is not good for you!" Amethyst scolded. 

"Actually, um, I said that." I coughed. Amethyst rolled her eyes. 

"Here you go, Pearl." Amethyst said lazily and handed baby Steven to Pearl.

"Oh, no, no, don't give him to me!" Pearl said.

 "Hand him over, Amethyst." Garnet said, removing her shades. "Here you go."

Garnet tried to do a little trick for baby Steven by blinking her eyes one by one and sticking her tongue out. It didn't help at all, since he just cried even more. "My power means nothing to an infant." Garnet said, emphasizing the 'nothing'.

"Okay, this is my department." Mr. Universe finally told the gems. 

"What're you gonna do?" I asked him. "Don't worry, I got this."

~~~Timeskip to Greg's van (Wow a lot of timeskips)~~~

Connie waved a maraca in front of Steven and made a little teddy bear dance. "How can the gems not know what to do?" Connie asked. 

"You think they know the first thing about raising a baby? That was all me, but I don't get it, driving always used to calm him down." Mr. Universe replied from the front of his van.

"Well, I just hope we can find a way to change him back... Yeah, how do we change him back?" I mumbled.

 "I don't know, look guys, let me take you home, I-I'll call you when this all this gets sorted out." Mr. Universe sighed.

"W-wait no, I wanna stay." Connie told him.

 "Are you sure?" he asked.

 "Yeah, I just wanna be there for Steven."

"What about you, (F/n)?" Mr. Universe asked me. 

"I wanna stay too... Don't worry Steven, it doesn't matter to me what age it seems like you are, I wanna hang out with you no matter what. Your dad still has his carwash and the gems have to do gem stuff so I'll watch you with hopefully the help of Connie when they're not around." I cooed.

"Of course I'll help! I can come see you after I'm done training with Pearl too. Doesn't that sound fun?" Connie smiled. 

"Wait- what training?" I whipped my head in Connie's direction.

"Er- I'll tell you later." she replied hastily. I groaned before looking at Steven again.

"I love you Steven, we all do." I whispered.

Baby Steven stopped crying and giggled in his baby voice, "I... Yuv oo." Connie giggled. 

"Aww! That's adorable, he likes you, (F/n)!"

I blushed and smiled. "Well look at that. He finally stopped crying." Mr. Universe said. 

"Well that's a start!" Connie announced happily.
