Uhmm
Well
This is awkward.
Sorry for not updating and stuff, for like... Months. But i've been doing other stuff I like to spend time not on the internet because sometimes i'd rather hang out with my family? I'll try to update more, but it might be slower compared to when I first started writing. I've also been practicing writing better so, I've been editing all of my previous chapters. You can go read them if you want. I feel like I have to add a pun... I got nothing.
Let minnow if you have one.
[(F/n) POV]
"Something doesn't feel right about this."
My face fell. Peridot only bluntly said, "Then use the D-pad."
"No, it's just... ngah. These things. We can't just leave their gems out there. They're going to form again later. If I could just bubble them, then, they'd be safe." he explained worriedly. Right after he said that, one of the gem mutants got thrown off the ship.
"Peridot!" I hissed.
"That wasn't me!" Peridot shouted, irritated.
"C'mon! We need to help them! (F/n), you'll help me, right?" Steven cried. I bit the inside of my cheek.
"Well-"
"There is no helping them. They're too broken. The beings who used to be in those shards are so shattered, they don't know who they are, or what's happening around them. They just seek out other gems, looking for the missing pieces of themselves. Trying to make themselves whole," Peridot spoke deeply. I looked over to Steven. He weakly blasted it away. "These early experiments only combine two or three shards. The cluster will be a billion times bigger. An inseparable fusion capable of destroying worlds, starting with this one."
We were silent.
"Oh." I awkwardly piped.
Suddenly, the drill started to shake. "Nyah!" I yelped. Peridot gave me a 'the heck was that' face. I furrowed my eyebrows at her.
"We're hitting some denser rock! This is it!" Peridot exclaimed. She pierced the drill into a large opening. There, we saw a bunch of different colored gem shards.
"Oh my gosh..." I breathed.
"Is that...?" Steven asked.
"The cluster." Peridot finished. Suddenly, everything started to shake again. White, ghostly figures surrounded the cluster.
"What's happening?!" Steven cried.
"It's too late! It's taking form!" Peridot shouted. "Steven, I'm sorry I couldn't save you or the billions of other lifeforms who matter far, far less to me. Do you have any last words?!"
"I love you guys!" Steven said softly, hugging us.
"Wow thanks." Peridot replied genuinely.
I blushed at this.
"Peridot, you always were... SO VERY CUTE!" I cried. Peridot was not amused. "And Steven, I have to tell you something--"
The drill shook and we all huddled together. The ghostly figures were sucked back.
"It's still struggling to take its form! This means we still might have time. There's still a chance!"
Eh, i'll tell him later.
