(Third Person POV)
(F/n) slept peacefully in her bed. Soft snores escaped her lips. She was dreaming of happy things. This didn't happen very common, so it would be best if she wasn't disturbed-
"(F/n)! Rise and shine! It's time to go train with Steven and Pearl!" Connie slammed the door open cheerfully. She definitely was a morning person.
"What?! King Octopus?! DONT WORRY- I WILL SAVE YOUR KAWAII PRINCESS- Oh." (F/n) mumbled groggily. "Why are you here so early..." she yawned and rubbed her eyes.
You know how in movies the girl wakes up and looks perfect? Well, this is reality. (F/n) pretty much looked worse than one of those gem mutants Steven and Connie had told her about.
"It's time to go train." Connie explained.
"Oh... Well, I didn't sign up for waking up early, so bye bye." (F/n) said and huddled under her blankets again. Connie rolled her eyes and ripped the blanket off of (F/n).
(F/n) hissed and wrapped her arms around her body. "Nooo!" she whined.
"Come on." Connie huffed, dragging her cousin out of bed.
~~~Timeskip to le Temple~~~
"Oh my gosh, what weapon should I choose?!" (F/n) asked, walking up the steps to the temple. "Whatever you want." Connie told her. "Well, I think it has to be related to a spear or sword. I dunno." Connie said. "...Okay then..."
Knock knock knock...
No answer.
They knocked again.
Nobody answered again.
"Ah, (F/n), Connie!" Pearl's voice came from behind them. "I apologize for being a little late. You two are early," (F/n) glared at Connie, "...But! We should start training, shall we?" Pearl said, leading the two girls to the warp pad.
Pearl warped them to the Ancient Sky Arena, and before them, many different weapons floated magically above the ground.
"Whoa!" (F/n) breathed. "This is so cool!" she squealed.
"Come on. Steven will be joining us shortly. He still has much to learn. As do you." Pearl told (F/n) mostly.
Pearl started walking towards the center of the arena, Connie following after. (F/n), snapping out of her thoughts, shook her head and skipped after them. "Again, I apologize for being late." Pearl chuckled.
"Oh, it's fine, Pearl!" Connie reassured.
"It's just we're working hard on the drill. It's sort of hard to squeeze in other things."
"Oh, are we- Am I pulling you apart from your guys's duties?" (F/n) asked worriedly.
"Oh, no. I'm more than happy to train you!" Pearl reassured.
(F/n) nodded.
"Choose your weapon." Pearl instructed.
(F/n) stared in awe at the sight before her. Many different weapons- Including axes, some sort of ninja stars, bow and arrows, even slingshots! She walked past each and every one of them, eyeing them carefully.
(F/n) curiously cocked her head to the side, stopping in front of a weapon- or weapons- that she seemed interested in.
Three ragged, but still shiny daggers- tinted in a peachy pink- next to a belt with scabbards that held them. "Wow... These look pretty... cool." (F/n) remarked.
"Oh yeah! Daggers." Connie said, "You should totally pick that."
(F/n) nodded, "Pearl! I think I like this one."
Pearl's eyes lit up in amusement. "Daggers, hm? You will be easy to train with these."
"Alrightie! So what do I do first?" (F/n) asked. She carelessly held the dagger, when it unexpectedly shot forward from a string, since it retractable. It barely missed Connie's head.
"CAREFUL!" Connie squealed.
Pearl didn't seem to notice and simply projected out a blue version of her- a hologram. "This will be your opponent. Watch Connie carefully first. I will make this easy."
"Level zero, beginner, set. Do you wish to engage in combat?" hologram Pearl asked in a robotic voice.
"Yes!" Connie replied, bringing out Rose Quartz's sword.
"Wow!" (F/n) breathed in amazement, "This is so cool!"
"Exactly how I felt." Connie laughed.
Connie fought hologram Pearl swiftly with ease. She easily won in a few seconds. "Now, (F/n), it's your turn." Pearl told (F/n).
(F/n) POV
"Now, (F/n), it is your turn." Pearl told me.
"W-what? Are you sure?" I stammered. Connie made it look easy, but Im not sure if it actually is that easy. Pearl nodded.
"Alright..." I mumbled, putting on the belt.
"Level zero, beginner, set. Do you wish to engage in combat?" I paused and nodded, gripping onto a dagger. Hologram Pearl lunged at me, and I squealed and jumped back.
The sword only cut off a bit of my hair. "(F/n), keep your eyes on her, and do not miss a moment to strike her!" I nodded and stepped closer to hologram Pearl. She stepped back. I stepped forward. she stepped back. This continued for a while until hologram Pearl probably got tired of this and swung her sword at me. I moved my head to the side quickly and scurried underneath her, slicing her in the back.
Hologram Pearl froze. She didn't move, so I casually kept retracting the dagger by triggering it multiple times. "..."
Suddenly, she poofed (I dunno how they die or whatever lmao) and disappeared. "Great job, (F/n)!" Pearl said. "That was awesome!" Connie said.
"Y-yeah, good job." I heard Steven say from behind me.
