I'll be really honest, when I first saw the episode title, I thought someone was gonna punch Yellow Diamond in the face-

(F/n) POV

The small, red gem turned to look around with a menacing glare.

I opened my mouth to speak, "What-? Oof!" Amethyst had tugged on my arm, pulling me into the barn where the others had fled. I hadn't even noticed they left. Steven stuck his head out to steal a glance at the gem- gems? More had popped out of the pod.

I placed my head above Steven's to take a look as well. I hadn't caught what they all had said, but I heard the last gem bark, "Let's fan out and search the area!"

"Steven, what are they?" I asked, looking down at him.

"Rubies." he replied.

"Oh, you mean like the one Sapphire is with to make up Gar- ACK! PERIDOT!" I squealed as Peridot grasped onto my hair. She shoved me onto Steven's back, slamming us both down in the process.

I was on his back.

On the floor.

"Ooooooooooooooooooooh!" Amethyst teased in the background.

"Uhm... Whoops! Sorry." I chuckled nervously and offered Steven a hand. He grasped onto mine and I pulled him up. My cheeks dusted a pink hue, and Steven awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck.

"It's fine." he said quietly, "Oh right. I forgot to heal you."

"Uh, i-it's not that bad. I'll pass on the spit!" I said quickly.

"I knew it. They're after me! This is the end of the line!" Peridot rambled, completely ignoring the whole situation.

Lapis raised an eyebrow, "You really weren't kidding."

"I disobeyed a direct order from Yellow Diamond, and I called her a clod... to her face." Peridot moaned in distress.

"Seriously?" I asked, impressed. Steven rapidly nodded.

"Oh honestly, you call everyone a clod." Pearl pointed out.

"Yes, but not everyone has command over all the armies of Homeworld waiting for the word to shatter me!" Peridot cried. She grabbed a box and huddled underneath it, as if it was some strong protection.

I lifted up the box from her. She had a look of uncertainty and worry on her face. It was too much!

"Aww, you're so cute!" I squealed. Peridot scowled.

"I am not, you CLOD!" Peridot hissed.

"My point exactly." Pearl murmured.

"Peridot, we won't let them get you." Steven reassured, smiling.

"But haven't I caused you enough trouble?" Peridot mumbled.

"Don't worry, Peridot. It's our sworn duty to protect anything that calls this planet home. And that includes clods like you." Garnet spoke up and placed a hand on her hip.

"That's my word." Peridot breathed quietly.

"Listen up, everyone. I have a plan. Or should I say," Garnet held up both hands, "We have a plan?" She smirked before her figure faded into white. The outline shifted, and suddenly, in Garnet's place were two gems; one blue, one red.

I recognized the red one as a Ruby, just like Steven told me. She looked just like the other red gems outside! Well, apart from the gem placement and outfit.
