"Not necessarily... Does that mean... You want to kiss me?" I ask McGee.
"Kind of... But if you don't want to since you and Palmer, I completely understand." McGee stammers.
"Fine. One kiss. Only one." He slowly leans down and kisses me. It's nice.
"Ashton! McGee!" I hear Palmer's voice echo.
"Jimmy. I promise it's not what it looks like." I say.
"It looks like you two are sucking each others faces off!"
"Palmer. I promise, it's not like that. I just wanted to help her get over the shock of being kissed. You know I would never steal her away from you. I love Abby." McGee says.
"You love who, McGee?" Gibbs asks as he stands in the doorway.
"Uh... Abby, boss... I love Abby."
"Rule twelve. All of you. I am ashamed." Gibbs turns around and walks out the door.
"Oh my god what have I done." McGee plops himself down in a chair with his face in his hands.
"McGee, you didn't do anything. This is all my fault. I'm sorry... Both of you." I say.
"Ashton, it's not your fault."
"Yes it is." Palmer leans in and kisses me.
"No. It's not." Palmer says. I look up with a sad expression. They understand by my face I want them to leave. Within five minutes they both have left. Great. Now I got them both in trouble. I just need to leave to get this whole thing sorted out. That's it. I'm going to quit. Quit to keep the others' jobs safe. Yes. That's what I will do.
"Ashton. How are you feeling?" Gibbs asks as he walks through the door a few hours later.
"Heart broken." I say solemnly.
"Heart broken?"
"Yeah... I've decided to quit... It's my fault you're mad at the others, so I'm quitting to save their careers."
"Save their careers? Who said their careers were threatened?"
"Well I just thought... Because of your rule... No one."
"Correct. No one." He turns and walks away, leaving me wondering what he means.
