Chapter 3 - The Planner

"McGee. There's a planner in his hand. Get a picture." Gibbs says as I walk in. McGee snaps a picture. "Ashton. You're here. Good. Take that planner, look through it. See if there's anything useful."

"Yes, Gibbs." I say. I pull the little book out of the dead mans hand and walk outside to look through it. I sit on a stump and open the book.

Skimming through it, it looks like a normal planner. Which meant I had to look deeper. Reading intently through the pages I find a plan for two days from now. The event says, 'Big transaction. Bring wife.' That is all it says. Nothing big but it might be something.

I run the book in to Gibbs and show him the event. "Good job, newbie. This could be valuable information... How do you feel about doing undercover work? As DiNozzo's wife?" Gibbs asks.

Upon hearing his name Tony walks over. I look at Gibbs with a look of confusion on my face. "Did you say my name boss?" Tony asks.

"Yes actually... You and Ashton are going undercover in two days. As a married couple. We will make the two of you look like who you're going to 'be'." Gibbs said.

"Yes, Gibbs." I say. I lower my head as I walk outside. I sit back on my little stump and rest my chin on my hand.

"Hey!" Palmer says as he walks over to me, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing..."

"Come on. I know it's not nothing." he sits beside me.

"I have to go undercover with DiNozzo in a few days... As his wife."

"Oh... Well... I might have a way to cheer you up."

"How?"

"I'll pick you up tonight, after work, and we can just hang out in the city. You know, get to know each other." he smiles.

"Alright. Sounds good." He puts his arm around my shoulders and gives me a little hug. I can't help but laugh.

"Mr. Palmer!" Ducky yells from inside.

"Well I have to go. Turn that frown upside down!" Palmer laughs as he gets up and goes into the house.
