"Ashton... You haven't said a word to me the whole ride home. What's going on?" Jimmy asks. I continue to stare out the window. "Ash."
"What do you want me to say?" I ask.
"I don't know..."
"James. It's late. I'm tired. I'm confused... Right now, I want to be alone."
"I'm sorry..." Jimmy says pulling into the driveway. I get out of the car, go to our room, and shut the door. "What are you doing?"
"I told you. I want to be alone." I say pushing a blanket and pillow through the door.
"Ash, I..." He starts as the door clicks locked. He sighs and walks down stairs.
*Jimmy's POV*
"I can't believe this..." I mutters under my breath as I unfold the hide-a-bed from the couch.
"Daddy?" Sydney asks peeking around the stairs.
"Hey, pumpkin! What are you doing up?"
"I heard you and mommy..." She stops and thinks, "Daddy? Why are you down here?"
"Mommy and I had a fight, darling."
"Can I stay with you to make you happy again?"
"Yeah. Come on." I watch as Sydney drags her blanky over to me.
"I'm sorry you're sad, daddy."
"It's ok... Alright. Let's try to get to sleep, ok?"
"Ok." She helps me unfold the blanket and puts my pillow down on the bed. We lay down and I put my arm around her. We lay there for quite a while before she turns around and kisses my nose. I smile as she nestles herself into my chest. I hug her and kiss her forehead before drifting off to sleep.
