I make my way into the elevator on my crutches. I ride up and step into the familiar bright orange room. "Ashton!" McGee smiles, "You're back!"
"Yes I am." I say.
"How are you feeling?" Ziva asks.
"A lot better. My leg is pretty much healed... I'm just not allowed to walk on it yet."
"How's Palmer?" Gibbs asks.
"He's able to move around a little now... He's using a walker though."
"Hey! At least it's a start!" Tony smiles.
"That is true..."
"How is his head?" Ziva asks.
"It's healed. Which is what the doctors were most worried about... So that's good."
"Very! Have they given him a release date yet?" McGee asks.
"Not yet... They said they would tomorrow... I'm so excited!"
"I think we all are... But even once he's out we have to be cautious. He's going to need physical therapy to be able to walk right again." Gibbs says.
"Yeah... Poor thing... I wish I could do something."
"There is something... Give him mortal support." Ziva says.
"It's moral, Zi." Tony says.
"Oh whatever."
"That's actually a good idea..." I smile.
"Ok enough chatting let's get to work." Gibbs says.
"On it."
They sat at their desks working away when the elevator doors slid open. "ASHTON!" Abby squeals.
"Hey, Abby." She wraps me in a big hug.
"I missed you! How are you feeling? Is Palmer ok?"
"I missed you, too! I'm feeling much better and Jimmy is great! He should be out tomorrow!"
"That's great! So have you two talked any about the wedding?"
"A little..."
"So what has been decided?!"
"Nothing officially yet!"
