Ashton:
"Y/N, where are you going?" You turned to see a very alert older brother, and almost groaned out in annoyance. Why didn't he ever let you leave without grilling you about where you were going, and with who. Didn't he know that he wasn't invited to your barbecue? You rarely did anything that he didn't approve of making the whole situation that much worse. It's like he didn't trust in your ability to make your own decisions."Just hanging out with Y/BFF/N at her house, maybe swim in her pool," you perfectly recited the lie. But then again, lie was a strong word, so you liked to think of it as a mostly-truth. After all, you were going out with Y/BFF/N, and there was a possibility you would need a swimsuit, you just didn't know why and had to make something up to keep Ashton happy. So really it's like two-thirds true, all you needed to do was round up and POOF truth bomb.
"Mhm, and when will you be home?"
"I was planning on staying overnight, that's what the bag is for," that one was completely true, you were staying with her all night.
"Alright, well, text me if you need something, I might be out with the boys later though," Ashton nodded, finally releasing you. As you stepped outside, you took in a deep breath of fresh air, freedom was sweet indeed. Turning on your heel, you marched over to Y/BFF/N's already waiting car, well aware that Ashton was carefully watching your every move.
"So where are we going and why do I need a swimsuit?" You asked as you threw the duffle in the backseat and buckled in.
"We were invited to a party, and it's on the beach so swimsuits are kind of a requirement," she laughed and your heart dropped. Poop, you were thinking more along the lines of, water-gun fighting in her backyard or maybe ding-dong-ditching her neighbors, certainly not a party let alone a beach party those were the worst kind. Seriously, who thought that it was a good idea to mix half naked teens, alcohol, and large deep bodies of water? It was a recipe for disaster.
"Maybe we should go get dinner instead, I'm starving," you rubbed your stomach for effect, but she just laughed.
"There's probably food there."
"I heard that there's a great movie out!"
"We went to the movies last time."
"OOH! That sign says cooking classes!"
"Seriously?" And with that, you accepted your fate and sat quietly the rest of the ride there thinking. There was no way you could get in trouble with Ashton for this, and that was a plus since you needed to focus all of your energy on not falling prey to peer pressure. You had seen some wild stuff go down, and didn't want to be the next girl to be conned into having her hair set on fire.
"Y/N, let's go we're here!" Y/BFF/N climbed out of the car and you followed her out into the crowd of sweaty dancing teens. Clearly the party was in full swing and judging by the various piles of vomit on the ground, some people were already having too much fun. You were handed a red cup, but based on the rate of which Y/BFF/N was consuming her own intoxicating beverages, you had to pass. Wouldn't want for the both of you to be unable to drive.
"WOOOOO!" Y/BFF/N screeched stumbling out of the crowd and towards the water, you were about to chase after her but your phone went off. It was a text from Calum.
Calum: just an fyi Ashton knows where you are and is on his way
Uh oh. You didn't want to preoccupy yourself with how he managed to find you, so instead collected a now very wet friend from the ocean and went to wait by the cars for him to arrive.
"Y/NNNNNNNN we just got herrrrrre let me go baaaack I wannnna partyyyyy!" She slurred leaning on you for support. It was sad really, the two of you had only been there for an hour or so and she was already wasted and you had to go back.
