To say the library was huge would be the understatement of the century. Huge didn't describe the sheer massive size of the building within a building. The library stood ten feet high, round like a tower, at the south end of the Academy, attached almost like an after thought. The center was s round cutout with ten story high book shelves. Lining the circular walls of every floor were walkways that were ten feet wide, all connected by stairs and all with intricate pathways out to the shelves.

Bree stayed on the ground level where the work tables and computers were located. Each table was numbered - for instances exactly like these in which her teacher had given her no information on her tutor only a table number. Six was her number.

Bree wandered mindlessly through the maze of people, desks and shelves until she caught sight of the only person in the world who had the power to make her freeze in her spot - Jace. He looked up at the same moment that Bree noticed he was sitting at none other than table six.

As he saw her nearing Jace began to shake her head furiously, "No. Nope. Not a chance. You're not even in my history class. Nope. Not happening. See ya later short stuff." He went to grab his bag resting on the back of his chair when Bree stopped him.

"We've been in the same history class for three years, Jace." She said quietly.

He sighed. "Fine. Sit. But we don't talk unless it's about history or your grade. Understood?" Bree nodded tiredly.

"So, let's start with a simple question I think is important. Why are you failing?"

Bree shrugged, looking at the table in front of her. "I've been busy."

Jace snorted. "I'd say. All that lying must not leave time for studying, huh?"

Bree sighed, getting up to leave. "Just forget it okay? Besides if I get kicked out then you won't have to worry about ever seeing me again."

He grabbed her arm roughly, "No. Wait, Bree. Let's just do history okay?" HE asked pulling her back into the chair.

She studied his for a moment before nodding. After almost an hour of cramming historic facts into her head Bree slammed her book closed. "I give up." She muttered.

"Oh no you don't." Jace argued. "You're telling me you can create a title wave with your mind but your can stick a few history facts in there?"

"History's hard."

"So is life." He countered.

"Why are you even doing this? You hate me and it's quite obvious that I'm hopeless."

Jace slid his hand across the table to cover Bree's. "I don't hate you." He whispered, finally making eye contact. "It just stings to know you didn't think you could count on me, I guess."

Bree leaned closer. "But that's not really what this was about for me. I've spent my whole life trying not to be noticed and now you know why and up until you found me it was working. I do feel like I can count on you, Jace, but that wasn't your secret to keep." Jace nodded his gaze flickering between her bright eyes and her full lips. As he leaned closer he watched her lips part slightly.

"Mr. Andrews, how goes the tutoring?" Mr. Brigham asked loudly. Jace leaned back and shuffled some papers trying not to be aware of the attractive blush that now coloured Bree's cheeks.

"It's uh it I mean she looks very uh promising, Sir."

"I bet." The teacher replied with a smirk. "I just dropped by to let Bree know she is free to go. These sessions only have to last one hour. But be careful Miss. Andrews, you would do well to remember your studies require your full attention for the time being."

After he walked off Jace started to laugh. "What?" Bree asked.

"Y-you just - he...you do realize he was talking about you failing because you were too focused on me, right?" Jace managed to choke out.

Bree began to pack up, looking anywhere but at Jace. She froze when she felt his finger caress her hot cheek. "How about we go somewhere and talk?" He asked.

"Um, the waterfall?"

"I was thinking more the rock field." A grin found it's way onto his face.

Bree matched it with her own grin. "Okay."
