Hey Guys,

I just wanted to say that I've noticed a lot of people have read the cover voting chapter but so far I've only had one person comment so please go back and do that

Thanks!

Bree struggled to take deep breaths. She hadn't run away from Jace just for the sake of running away although she had to admit her follow up appointment with the guard had come at a convenient time. Her pale hands shook slightly when she brushed her hair back from her face as her mind whirled with possible questions. She had no idea how she was going to make it through a second round of questioning, especially after what had just happened with Jace.

Agent Brimstone greeted her at the end of the long stone hallway and led her to the same room as before, "One minute, ma'am." he said, gesturing with a finger. Soon, he returned with Jace's father, Henry, in tow.

"Good morning." Henry nodded at her.

"Morning." Bree nodded tightly. She rested her hands in her lap, waiting, as the two officers sat across from her.

Henry folded his hands on the table leaning forward. He seemed to be in control of the inerrogation. Slowly, he let out a sigh and spread some important looking papers out in front of him. He looked from the papers to Bree's worried face allowing her to sweat a bit before he started. "So, Bree," he began, "first I need to clear something up. "

"Just paper work, ma'am." Agent Brimstone cut in with a shrug of his shoulders. Bree's eyes followed the two men warily.

"Where is the last place you remember being before you passed out on April fourth?" Henry inquired slowly.

"I was leaving my science lesson."

"Thank you. Alright Bree it's time we were frank with you. It's not looking good for you."

"Excuse me? I don't even know what this is about!"

"That's what we're going to explain, ma'am." Brimstone replied. "Now this stuff here, it's classified information. You cannot repeat this to anyone until the investigation is closed. Do you understand, ma'am?"

"Yes." Bree's mind continued to race. Had they already figured it out?

"On the fourth of April, the day my son found you, there was an attack." Jace's father began. Bree remained silent, she was aware of the attack but if she wanted to keep her secret she knew she would have to play dumb,  "There was a group of semi-powerful Elites that decdied to attack The Leader. We know something saved him but we also know there are still a few unidentified members of said group." Henry gave Bree a pointed stare.

"And you think had something to do with it?" Bree was almost laughing. The relief that was clearly displayed on her round face confused the two officers.

"It looks that way. Now, is there anything you'd like to tell us? Maybe we can help you out."

"Uh, no thanks. I don't need a deal because I didn't have anything to do with those people who attacked The Leader. Sorry."

"So you're saying you had no idea about an attack on The Leader?"

"I'm saying I had no idea a group with the intention of hurting the leader even existed." Bree neatly avoided the real question. After a few moments of silence the two agents got up and walked to the door.

"Okay Bree," Henry started, pausing to hold the door open for Brimstone, "we would like to run some tests."

"What!? Why!?"

"I'm sorry ma'am but we can't tell you that." Bree noticed the agent wouldn't meet her eyes.

"Don't I have a right to know what's going on!?" she shouted.

"No, Bree, you don't. Giving you information like we did before, well, that's a privlage not a right." Henry look down at her coldly. "In three days time you will go see the doctor and he will run some tests."

Bree rose and placed her fisted hand on the table with force. "So I have no say in this?" she asked fiercely.

"I'm sorry but no." Henry replied. With one last scathing glare Bree stormed out of the room. She broke into a run as soon as the door clicked behind her, reaching only the damned main foyer before she fell against the wall and broke into sobs. That was how he found her - curled into a ball against the wall looking every bit the broken girl she always tried not to be.

"Hey, hey babygirl, it's okay. Come here." Jace pulled her into his strong arms and held her tight. When her sobs finally quieted he slowly stood and brought her bridal style to her room.  She reached out and blindly unlocked the door before he could even ask for the keys and then promply curled back into his broad chest.

Bree knew her actions were ridiculous. She knew they went aganist everything she'd said up to that point but at that moment, in Jace's arms, knowing her whole world was about to come crashing down, she couldn't bring herself to care.

SO

Any ideas on what's going to happen to Bree?
