Demi

To say I was worried would be an understatement, everyday for the past two weeks I've sat at my desk watching the clock waiting for her to walk into my classroom, and I was really starting to worry about her, she could be dead for all I know! I even went to the orphanage twice, they said she was busy! I know that means she's probably not dead but they could be lying to cover it up, maybe one of the carers murdered her and the orphanage doesn't want anyone to know? I watch a lot of crime shows in my spare time okay? I was currently sat at my desk hoping and praying I would see her walk through the door today.

School started thirty minutes ago and she still wasn't here, I had a free two periods and was sitting at my desk doing some research as to why some students miss a full two weeks of school no explanation, I heard the door open and close again, I immediately looked up from my computer. A skinny young girl in a baggy hoodie, with a grey dress underneath, and tights underneath the dress, her medium length blonde hair down, I ran up to the small figure and embraced her in a hug 'I was so worried about you babygirl' I said as I held her close to me 'I missed you Miss Lovato' I pushed her hood back but she pulled it back up 'sweetheart you can call me Demi when we are alone, and what don't you want me to see?' I asked as I lifted her chin, gasping at the sight I saw, her normally sparkling brown eyes were dull with no emotion, black circles under her eyes, as well as some nasty bruises 'baby what happened?' She looked hesitant for a second 'Bailey beat me up' I hugged her again 'I'm so glad you're okay' I whispered against her head 'all I could think about was you baby, I was so scared you were dead' I swear I heard her mumble 'might as well be' I shook my head 'nope not on my watch, I care for you beautiful' she smiled sadly, honestly breaking my heart. I took her hand and led her to the front of the classroom, sitting down on my chair then pulling her onto my lap, I noticed how she winced at the contact 'are you okay baby?' She nodded and rested her head on my shoulder 'baby I've got some questions I need you to answer truthfully' she nodded hesitantly 'have you eaten in the past couple of days?' she quickly nodded 'look me in the eyes and tell me that baby' she dropped her head more 'no' she whispered, I sighed and hugged her 'come on let's get food into your system' I took her hand and we went to my car, we are allowed to take students out to buy food if they have none, so I won't get in trouble for this. We drove to the nearest supermarket, and I basically had to drag her out of the car 'Demi, please I don't want to be fat' she sobbed as we entered, I turned around and crouched in front of her 'baby, you won't get fat, you are way to skinny' she shook her head and looked down, I sighed taking her hand 'please baby? For me' she sighed and nodded not looking up 'I'm proud of you beautiful' she just nodded and didn't look up again. After we had picked out food for her we got back in the car, I turned on the radio and of course it was cool for the summer that came on, I groaned 'what's wrong Demi?' Lyric asked me sweetly 'this is my song baby' she just nodded and laid back a little. After it had finished she turned to me 'I like your voice Demi, it's pretty' she said, I smiled at her 'thank you babygirl' I said taking her hand 'both hands on the wheel!' She screamed, I immediately put both of my hands back on the wheel. When we got back to the school I turned to look at Lyric, I noticed she was crying and shaking 'baby? What's wrong?' She shook her head, I got out of the car and walked to her side opening the door and pulling her into my embrace 'my parents died in a car accident' she whimpered quitely 'I'm so sorry babygirl, I promise you I'll remember next time to keep both hands on the wheel, but hey! We are still alive' she was still pretty panicked and her breathing had become irregular 'baby, breathe, with me' I took her hand and placed it on my chest 'feel that baby? My heartbeat, you are alive baby, I am alive and I need you to breath so you can stay alive' she started to calm down. After she was fully calm we returned to my classroom 'shit baby! What were you supposed to have now?' She shrugged 'I don't know, I forgot my schedule, so I came here' I sighed and got up my computer, looking up her schedule 'you were supposed to be in art' she shrugged 'I hate art, can't I stay here with you Demi' I sighed 'you have to at the moment, you haven't eaten breakfast yet' she froze, her jaw dropping 'breakfast? Your making me eat breakfast?' I nodded, 'and lunch, baby it's so unhealthy what you are doing' she started sobbing 'come here baby' she walked over to me and I wrapped my arms around her, picking her up and carrying her to my desk. It took thirty minutes to get her to eat half of the tiny fruit salad I had gotten her, I could tell that she was in a lot of pain and it made me feel terrible but I know that it had to be done, I couldn't lose this little girl and if that meant holding her down whilst feeding her then that's what I have to do.
