Demi
I felt someone shaking my shoulder and opened my eyes to see Dallas smiling down at me
'time to get up Dems, you've got to teach today' I sat up and rubbed my eyes
'morning Dally'
'morning Dems' I stood up and walked to the shower. I quickly undressed and got into my shower.
After showering I did my hair and makeup, trying not to think about Lyric. I quickly walked out of my bathroom and got changed into an outfit that Dallas had left on the bed, god she's a saint. I then ran downstairs to find Dallas with a plate of food already on the table for me
'god Dal, you're a savior' I smiled as I sat down
'you owe me one Dems'
'anything for you Dal' I began eating my breakfast and going over what I was going to teach today
'is there anymore news from the hospital?' I asked as I finished my last bite
'Dem, you shouldn't worry about that, not now' Dallas said taking my plate and placing it in the dishwasher
'she's my daughter Dallas, I can't just not worry about her, especially with the state she's in at the moment' I said, checking the phone for any messages
'The hospital haven't called, so I'm assuming everything is okay, but seriously Dem, stressing yourself out isn't healthy for you and you know that' she said raising her eyebrow
'Dallas, I'm fine'
'fine? What was last night then Dems? How long have you had that blade?'
'About a year, but I swear I haven't used it once, it was just there in case I needed it'
'Seriously Demi? A year?' she asked in an alarmed tone, slamming her hands on the counter top
'I'm sorry' I said as a tear rolled down my cheek
'no, no baby, I'm sorry I shouldn't have reacted like that, I promise that we'll fix whatevers the problem and I'm so glad you told me about it' She walked back over to me and wiped my eyes. I smiled at her and hugged her tightly
'you can't tell mom and dad, or Wilmer, or Marissa, our little secret' I said hopefully but she shook her head
'you know that I have to, Dems this is serious, if you had the blade that means you were thinking of harming yourself again which is very serious' I sighed
'I wouldn't have done it' I mumbled
'what if I weren't there last night? Marissa and Wilmer weren't seeming to help you at all in that situation, would you have cut if I didn't come?' I looked away from her and shrugged
'Dems, you just need to have a little chat with your therapist baby, then it'll be done with and we don't have to speak about it again. The only people that have to know is mom and dad, and Marissa or Wilmer as they are living with you and can prevent you from harming yourself if you ever felt you needed to do it'
'I don't want to, I'll disappoint everyone' Dallas sighed, obviously frustrated at my refusal
'Demi, I'll be more disappointed if you don't get help, but if you do it'll remind of how strong you are for reaching out and getting help because I know it's hard for you sometimes' I looked at her for a moment before pursing my lips
'fine, one session, and only mom, dad and Marissa find out' She smiled and hugged me
'I'm so proud of you Dems, I'll book the appointment for 4:30?' I nodded and she kissed my forehead
'now go teach your class' I quickly hugged her and then got into my car.
The drive to school was lonely without my little pain in the ass next to me in the passenger seat. Normally we'd be rocking out to whatever was on the radio, or playing truth or dare car style but today all I did was sip my coffee whilst thinking about everything that had happened over the past couple of months. The school was practically empty when I pulled up, there were only a few cars around which would have been the principals and a few other staff members, I just wanted Lyric to be here with me.
That was one of the longest school days I've ever had, the kids were full of energy and just didn't want to do the work I had assigned them, I had teachers asking me where Lyric was and I had no answer as to where she was so it made for awkward changing of the subject and after being away I had so many assignments to mark, luckily I had two free periods to get the marking done. I was now on my way home, Dallas had texted me and said she was going to accompany me to the therapy session because she wanted to show she cares, which I never doubted but if it's what makes her happy then she can come if she wants. When I arrived home I quickly put the stuff I didn't need in the house and then got into Dallas's car.
'did the hospital call?' I questioned as soon as I saw Dallas
'Hey Dallas, how was your day? Oh great thanks Demi how was your day?' Dallas said sarcastically
'Dal, please I'm serious'
'Hi serious, I'm Dallas'
'Dallas'
'Demetria'
'Dallas'
'Demetria'
'Dallas!' I said, getting quite irritated
'sorry, no they didn't Dems'
'I hope she's okay' I worried aloud
'I know baby, I do too' Dallas said holding my hand whilst she drove with one hand on the wheel
'is this how you felt?' I questioned
'when you went to rehab?' I nodded
'yes, I was terrified that something bad was going to happen to you, I was asking mom every ten minutes for the first three days, but she looked horrible so I left her alone after that' I sadly shifted my gaze to the floor
'She's a strong kid Dems, she'll get through this, you both will' I smiled at Dallas, and she smiled back at me
'Thank you so much for this Dallas, you really are a huge amount of help'
