A Months Notice

Chapter Two

Katherine cried in her room as her maids and all were packing her things for London . She had a letter from Darcy in her hands .

Dear Katherine,

My dear I do not wish you to London . I only wish I was more than a son of the head of parliament. Please write me soon . I'll figure out a way to get you out of being married to this 41 year old dinosaur! I promise .

She folded up the letter and held it to her heart . "Katherine? It's time for lunch  , " her mother said . Her mother wasn't like most mothers. Her mother had long blonde hair that was always braided and had her crown perfectly on it .
She always wore beautiful colors , yet they were dark . Her mother had gorgeous green eyes . Unlike Katherine.

Katherine had brown curly hair while her mother's was straighten to perfection. Katherine had muddy brown eyes unlike her father or mother . And she wore purples .

"Come on now . We mustn't leave the auto waiting " Victoria said referring to them going to lunch out of the palace . "mother ?" "Yes ?" "Why must I marry the king of England ? I rather marry that stupid Prince of New York " "Oh dear , well your father and I won't be waiting long . Be ready " "mother ? I'm feeling ill .... Would you mind if I skipped lunch out of the palace ?" "Not at all dear there are a few things your father and I must discus " Victoria said and kissed her daughters cheek .

Katherine waited for her mother to leave her room and grabbed the telephone in her room .

"Hello ?"
"Darcy "
"Oh Katherine!"
"Darcy ! I'm leaving in two days ! Two days !"
"I know "
"Have you read the books like you said you would ?"
"I did !"
"And ?"
"There's nothing . You have to go through with it "
"Why ?"
"It's your duty "
"Look , I don't wanna marry him I want to marry you !"
"I do too , but you have to . Honey I rather you just marry him . Maybe kill him and then marry me "
"I'll try "
"Okay , bye"
"Bye " Katherine said and put the phone back.

Jack was currently looking through the binder , full of all of the rich, beautiful young ladies in New York . "Ugh !" Jack said backing his fist on the table .

"Jack ! Great new !" Medda said "unless it's that all of parliament is dead -" "I've found you bride " "woop woop " Jack said sarcastically. "Look !" She said handing him a packet "what ?" "That girl in there is your new bride " Medda said and walked off . "Moms "

Jack opened it .

Katherine Amelia Johanna Elizabeth Marie Pulitzer.

"Long name " Jack said aloud to himself .

He continued to read the packet :
Height : 5'4
Weight : 112 lbs.
Hair color : Brown with light blonde highlights.
Eye color : Hazel
Decent : Hungarian and French
Age : 15

"15! WHAT ? SHES 15!" Jack said aloud trying to comprehend the new information .

Jack opened the door to Meddas office . "Hello Ja-" "SHES 15! " "Jack listen -" "Mom ! She's not even old enough to drive ! And I'm going to be married to her ?!" "Listen , -" "no ! I refuse !" "Okay see if you get the crown then !" "But ! This ! She's 15 ! Mom I'm 25 ! She's hasn't even graduated from high school yet !" "Jackson , listen to me . You better marry her . Not only do you need a wife . But we then have some allies !" "This , ugh !" Jack said and went back to his room to sulk .

There wasn't even a photograph of this girl for goodness sake !

Katherine

Katherine was currently sitting on her bed and brushing her hair out . "Katherine?" "Come in " she called to the door . Her mother came it with a smile across her face . "What ?" Katherine said ."don't talk to me like that !" Her mother said and hit Katherine's hand . Katherine brought it back to her chest , it getting red from the slap . "I'm sorry mother , as you were ?" "Your father and I have wonderful news " "really ?" "Don't interrupt ! " her mother said again . "Yes mother " Katherine said and hung her head "don't look shameful ! A princess never is shamed !" Her mother said and slapped her hand again .

"Yes mother I am so sorry ... As you were saying" "good ! You are to marry Prince Jackson of New York instead of King Ronald of London " "mother , that's worse ! Not only is he arrogant and a liar and a flirt but he is 25! Mother he's ten years older than me! I hate this ! It's stupid ! It's fricken stupid !" Katherine said . Her mother gasped and brought a hand up . Katherine couldn't see this because of her bangs flowing in front of her eyes .

Victoria took her hand and slapped Katherine hard against the face . Katherine gasped . "Don't you dare curse ! Ever again ! Do you understand me ?" Victoria said almost yelling "Yes mother , I'm sorry "Katherine said teary eyed . "Your an idiot ! Don't dare care ! A princess dose not cry ! Does she ?" "No mother " "No mother ? She does cry ?" Victoria said tapping her foot "Mother I agreeing to saying a princess does not cry " she said her voice barley above a whisper "Speak louder !" "I'm sorry mother !" "Don't shout at me !" Victoria said slapping Katherine again and yanking her chin . "Don't ever disrespect me again . Understand?" Victoria said . Katherine nodded quickly "Speak when spoken to !" Victoria said "I'm sorry mother , and I understand mother " "good , go to bed !" Victoria said and slammed the door behind her as she exited .

Katherine placed her cool hand against her red burning cheek . Tears began to fall out of her face .

She was getting married to a man she never met who was 10 years older and she was getting slapped around by her mother who is suppose to love her and treat her kindly .... But she doesn't quite have the princess life .
