A Months Notice

Chapter Three

Katherine rode in the car to New York by herself . Her cheek still sore from a couple days ago . It was a silent journey. Her hands still clutching the letter from Darcy . She had never even seen a photo of this Prince ! And now she was marrying him .

Was he gonna like her ? Was he going to be rude ? Was their countries going to join together? Her stomach tossed and turned as the passed the sign "Welcome To New York " .

This was by far much scarier than marrying that 41 year old King , who had heart problems and would die any Day.

Prince Jack was 25. He was in perfect health, according to the gossip she's heard from the maids he was quite the lady killer. And he knew how to get what he wanted .

25..... He would most certainly want some .....bedroom fun ..... With her and Katherine had barely kissed anyone . The giant palace came into view and she kept in all her feelings. "Miss , we're here " the driver said . She nodded and kept going over her mother's lessons to herself

The driver stopped the car and. Immediately she took a deep breath .

The car door was opened and she stepped out . Wow the palace looked a lot bigger than she expected.

"One heeled foot in front of the other " Katherine said to herself in her head . "Ah , here she is ! Princess Katherine Amelia Johanna Elizabeth Marie Pulitzer!" A woman wearing a beautiful shade of magenta with a crown on her head . "Hello , you must be Queen Medda " "I am , you are even more beautiful than they say " "oh thank you your majesty. You look far to young to have a 25 year old son " "Aren't you sweet as pie ! Oh come with me ! Jackson is in the grand hall . He just finished and meeting " Katherine smiled and nodded and followed Medda .

It was a short trip to the hall .

"Jackson ? Jackson ?! Jackson !" "Sorry mom , I just was talking with David . We have to go off to New Hampshire soon for a college grand opening . " Jackson said "Oh , well maybe you can take Katherine with you " Medda said . Jackson looked and saw a small girl with brown hair and brown eyes . "Oh , you must be Princess Katherine-Amelia " Jack Said and bent down to kiss her hand . "I am , you are Prince Jack " Katherine said . "I'll leave you two it . I'll see you at supper " Medda said and kissed Jack's cheek . The two smiled at each other until Medda left the hall .

"What are you doing here ?" Katherine said "Aren't princess supposed to speak we a spoken to ?" Jack said folding his hands over his chest and smirking . "Ugh ! Your not suppose to be the prince !" Katherine said "well I am . And I'm not too keen on you being the princess " Jack said ."ugh !" Katherine said "Wait , your the girl from the forest ! I remember you ! You must have been running because you were told we were getting married " "Kinda of ! And did it barely take you that long to recognize me ?!" "That's rude " Jack said . Katherine quickly hung her head and looked down . "I'm sorry your highness " Katherine said looking at her feet .

"It's alright . Look , how about we get better aquatinted ?" Jack suggested "That's sounds nice " Katherine said . Jack walked and Katherine followed .

Jack opened doors to his office "Sit won't you ?" Jack said she nodded and sat down across from him . "So ... Katherine? Your 15?!" "Yes " "and you're 15?!" "Yes I'm 15" "when will you be 16?" "Next year " "Ugh ! Not even this year ?" "No I'm sorry I had my birthday in January " "what day ?" "The 23rd" "Oh this is just great !" Jack said sarcastically. "I'm sorry "Katherine said looking down at her feet . "Look , I'm just gonna show you your room . I'm sure your lady in waiting will show you the way to the dining room "Jack said frustrated . Katherine nodded .

Jack stood up and Katherine followed him down the hall where there was only one other room "this is my room " Jack said pointing to the door at the beginning of the hall . "And that down there is yours " he said pointing to the door at the very end "Thank you " Katherine said shyly "Supper is at 6:30 , your maid or something will tell you the rest " "thank you -" "would you stop saying thank you ?!" "I'm sorry , what do you want me to say ?" "Dr-IG-mu-get-ur-ugh!" Jack then took her wrist and pulled her to her room . "Ow" "just get in your room " Jack said and stormed off into his own .
