A Months Notice

Chapter Twenty-Five

Jack walked into their bedroom .

Katherine was brushing her hair like she always did .

Katherine was no longer intimidate by him . In fact she was ready to take whatever he would dish out .

She knew it was so wrong . That this is the type of thing you would see in a movie with a mental patient...... Somewhat like Beauty and the Beast.

That she , the beauty , loved the beast even though he was cruel . Like Belle, Katherine could see through it and she loved him .

"Katherine... Katherine...
Katherine... I can't believe you - no , never mind ..... Get to bed its late " Jack sighed and went to get dressed .

Katherine smiled , her plan was staring now . She turned off the lights and crawled into bed .

Jack walked out and it was dark and he couldn't see . He tripped over Katherine's vanity chair which she "accidentally " forgot to push in .

"Fuck !" Jack said slamming on the plush white carpet . Katherine turned on the lamp on her bedstand .

"Jack ? Are you alright ?" Katherine asked walking over to him .

"No , I tripped .... This really hurts . " he said holding onto his leg . Katherine put her hand on his leg and pulled his pajama pants up so she could see his leg .

"It's gonna bruise Jack .... You should put some ice on it " Katherine said to him .

"Katherine? Could you get me some ice from the wet bar ?" He asked her . Katherine nodded and went to grab some ice .

Jack sat on the floor clutching his leg and Katherine came and put the ice on his leg .

"Oh , that's cold " Jack gritted through his teeth. Katherine kept her hand on his leg.

"It should be okay now " Katherine said to him .

"Oh , yeah .... " and then he got up and walked to bed . Katherine put the ice away and laid back down .

Katherine got ready and picked it gorgeous blue as gown .

Medda was coming home today and Katherine would finally have some company at meal times .

Jack put on his suit as Katherine finished her tights and all out couldn't do her corset .

She should she ask him for help or not ?

She walked out of her dressing room and called for Jack

"Jack? Can you please help me ?" Katherine asked .

"Busy"

"Please Jack ? I need help "

"Go get Clara !" He yelled at her . Katherine walked out , in her robe and her underwear.

"Could you please tie my corset ," she asked.

"Fine . " he sighed and grabbed the strings . He pulled them and they were finally tightend.

"Thank you " she said .

"Just get dressed ! I'm going to go . I'll be down stairs .... My mother will be here in half and hour. I expect you to be ready " Jack said and walked out he door .

Katherine got dressed and walked down to where Jack was .

Medda was just about to walk in ."nice of you to show up " Jack said .

Medda walked in and ran to Katherine . "Hello dear " she said holding onto Katherine and giving her a huge hug .

"Mom ?" Jack said . Medda turned and let go of Katherine to give Jack a hug .

"Oh I have something for you !" Medda said digging in her purse .

"Mom , you didn't have to get anything for me !" Jack said

"I know ... I didn't .... Katherine. I was walking past this little jewelry store on my way to meet someone and I saw this and I thought of you .... It's Hungarian... You're Hungarian aren't you ?" Medda asked pulling out a beautiful little egg .

"I am .... Oh ! Oh my ! A egg box .... My grandmother used to have allot hers lined up and she would let me open one for her to wear every Sunday before Church !" Katherine said as Medda handed her an egg box .

"Open it !" Medda said very happy Katherine knew what it was .

"Oh my .... This is so beautiful.... Oh Medda thank you .... I'll cherish it forever " Katherine told her when she opened the box and inside was a good locket with a portrait of porcelain on it and tiny blue sapphires hanging on a gold chain .

"I'm glad you like it .... I remember jacks grandmother hated me ! She wouldn't even say good morning! I don't want that for us .... After all you are my daughter now " she hugged her . Katherine hugged her back and thanked her again .

"Oh , I have to go make a phone call .... I told your Aunt Linda  id call soon ! We're going to lunch tomorrow " Medda said . She smiled and left .

Katherine walked back to her room with the necklace back in the egg . It was so beautiful. And Katherine wished she had gotten Medda something .

Jack walked in to see Katherine holding the necklace . She opened the locket and to her surprise Medda put a photo of Jack in it .

"Need some help ?" Jack asked when He walked to her .

"Oh , yes please I can't seem to hook it on in the back" Katherine said to him .

Jack picked up the necklace and Katherine held her hair up . He fastened it in the back . The gold was cold on her necklace . She looked in the mirror and smiled to her self .

His hands were off her and she let her hair down . "You look beautiful in that dress " Jack said to her .

"Thank you " Katherine said Jack . Jack then sat down behind her on the bench .

Jack pressed his hands on her back . "I'm sorry about yesterday.... I was super stressed and had no right to yell at you the way I did .... I didn't mean to call you a bitch and all .... I was just being stupid .... I'm sorry Katherine.... I mean your my wife ! And if I expect respect I should respect you . And I didn't respect you . And then I tripped and you helped me and I didn't even say thanks .... I'm sorry Katherine " Jack said to her .

"I accept your apology and I'm sorry too .... We're such an odd couple " Katherine smiled.

Jack kissed her cheek "I've gotta get back to work ... I'll see you at lunch "
