A Months Notice

Chapter Forty-Seven

"Katherine? Where are you going ?" Jack asked as she got dressed .

"Doctor " Katherine responded matter of factly .

"Why ? " Jack asked her .

"Weekly pregnancy test " Katherine said

"Honey .... We haven't done anything for two weeks "

"I know but still... Just incase .... It's never positive .... I'm just to it " Katherine said . Jack kissed her goodbye.

"Good morning Queen Katherine... How are we today ?" The doctor asked as Katherine laid down on the bed .

"Alright ... " Katherine said .

The doctor put her hand on Katherine's stomach . "Okay .... You know what happens next ... Theres a cup in the bathroom... Bring it out .... And I'll have the nurse test it "

Katherine nodded and went to take the test . She handed the nurse the cup and sat back down .

"So .... When was the last time you where sexual active ?"

"Last night " Katherine said .

"Birthday Present? " the doctor asked .

"I'm not one to kiss and tell .... " Katherine smiled .

"That's good.... " the doctor said . Katherine smiled and they waited .

"Excuse me ? Doctor Elphs ? Can you double check this ?" The nurse asked .

"Of course.... Excuse me a moment queen Katherine "

Katherine took a deep breath thinking something was wrong . Was she sick ? Did she have cancer ?

The door opened and Katherine shook her thoughts . "Queen Katherine? Are you alright ?"

"Yes .... I got a little dizzy "

"Well you should be " the doctor said .

"Why ? Am I sick ?!"

"You're pregnant " the doctor smiled .

"What ?! I am ? Really , finally ?!" Katherine asked . The doctor nodded and Katherine hugged her .

"Oh ! I need to tell Jack ! Oh god .... I don't even know how to tell him ! He'll be so happy!"

Katherine got a little box , that was a soft purple , and put in a pair of baby shoes and a rattle . She tied it with a soft yellow ribbon .

She had the chef make them a meal that consisted of baby carrots, baby back ribs , baby corn and baby cakes . She got him a glass of wine and herself some sparkling water.

She put on the dress she wore that day that she had told him she was pregnant.

"Come on ! It's dinner time !" Katherine said and grabbed jacks hand .

"I'm coming ... Hold on " Jack smiled . She took his hand and took him to the gardens .

There was a a table with two chairs and candles all around under the gazebo .

"What this for ?" Jack asked .

"A late birthday present... Just you and me " Katherine said and they walked to the gazebo .

"Okay ... What's for dinner ?" Jack asked . Katherine took the lid off his plate .

"Baby carrots , baby corn . Baby back ribs ... Baby cakes .... What's this for ?" Jack asked .

"I asked the chef to make a dinner with a theme .... They just kinda went for it " Katherine said and they began to eat .

"So , I was thinking .... Next week we take my mom out " Jack said

"Where ? What did you have in mind ?"

"I don't know ... Maybe to a nice lunch or something ... A museum or something "

"Or something ? I'll help you brain storm some more later " Katherine laughed .

"Okay " Jack chuckled . "I still can't believe you got my cousin Finch all the way from Italy to come !" Jack smiled .

"I had to make some phone calls but I did .... Oh ! I have a present for you " Katherine smiled .

"You didn't have to get me anything ...."

"Yes I did ....-"

"But you've given me enough presents ! No more !" Jack smiled .

"This one kinda popped up !" Katherine said and handed him the box .

"Okay .... A box ... "

"Open it !" Katherine smiled .

Jack untied the ribbon and opened the light purple box . "What ?" Jack said and then pulled out the baby rattle and baby shoes .

"Katherine.... This is a nice dinner and all but .... This is kinda ..... Kinda weird "

"Notice a theme ?" Katherine asked .

"No ..."

"Looking .... The food ? Baby , carrots and Baby, corn and then Baby back ribs ? And a pair of Baby shoes and a Baby rattle ?" Katherine smiled

"Is it because I'm your baby king ?" Jack joked .

"No " Katherine smiled . Jack looked all the things then back at her dress . The same dress when she told him .

"Katherine? Are you pregnant?" Jack asked very hopeful. His eyes pleading for a yes .

"Yes I am " Katherine smiled . Jack gasped and got off his chair and ran to her .

"For sure ?" Jack asked putting his hand on her stomach.

"For sure !" Katherine smiled and kissed him . Jack picked her up and spun her around .

"Oh my god ! Finally ! After all our tryings ! God Katherine! A baby! " Jack said and hugged her .

"Yes .... The doctor told me I need to get checks once a week and all .... Also I need to take more vitamins ... Be careful of what I'm eating ... She told me not tell the public until I pass the second months because that's where we lost the last one "

"Oh lord ! Katherine.... I love you .... " Jack said and kissed her again .

"I think we should take your mom out shopping and tell her then or something " Katherine smiled .

"I love that !" Jack said and kissed her again .
