A Months Notice

Chapter Fifty-Four

The babies where now four months old . Katherine was sitting down holding Angie . "Katherine? Chris needs a feeding " Jack said walking in the nursery .

"Okay .... Can you take Angie ?"

"I can't .... I have to go back to work Katherine " Jack said and put Christopher in the crib.

"Jack -"

"I'll be back later .... I'm sorry honey" Jack said and kissed Katherine's head and left .

Katherine sighed and put Angie in the crib and began to feed Chris . "Shhh" Katherine said bouncing Chris up and down .

She put them back down for a nap . Katherine went and walked to jacks office .

"Jack ? You have a minute?" She asked as she walk in .

"A minute .... What's up ?" Jack asked

"I wanna go see my mother ... Elizabeth.... She's never met the twins" Katherine said sitting down .

"I know Katherine.... I'm super busy .... What if they come here ?" Jack asked as he typed

"Your gonna be okay with that ?" Katherine asked

"Yes .... Go ahead and call them " Jack said and she left .

Katherine called her mother on the phone .

"Hello ?"

"Hi mom"

"Katherine? Oh hellos dear! How are you ?"

"Tired "

"I bet ... How are the twins ?"

"They're great "

"Wonderful .... How are things with Jack and you ?"

"Much better .... He pretty busy with work and all "

"I bet "

"Yeah ... I was wondering in you and father would like to come to New York for a week ? "

"That sounds great "

"And I know you haven't meet the babies yet so you can meet them when you both come !"

"I've been dying to meet them ! "

"Great ... So we can expect you in a couple days ?"

"Yes ... Your father and I will be there"

"Wonderful .... I gotta go Angelica is crying ... By mom "

"Bye Katherine, I love you "

"Love you too mom" and Katherine hung up . She ran to her daughter who was crying .

"Shhh ... Mommy's here ... What's wrong ?" She asked bouncing the baby .

Angelica continued to cry and her crying woke up Christopher. Katherine set Angelica down and went to get her son .

"Shhh ... It's okay " she said and he continued to cry which made Angelica cry which made Christopher cry which made them all cry .

Katherine sighed and held one at a time and held them bouncing . "Shhh" Katherine said .

The crying was driving her crazy. She feed them and burped them and tried to rock them . It was far pass supper time . And she knew she should eat but she was exhausted.

Jack opened the door . "Woah ... What's going on ?" Jack said .

Both babies where crying , one was in Katherine's arm and the other in the baby bouncing in the bouncer .

"They won't stop crying !" Katherine said . Jack took Christopher who was in her arms and rocked him just like Katherine had . Christopher fell asleep and was placed in his crib then he did the same for Angelica.

"Have I gone deaf ?" Katherine asked .

"No , they're asleep " Jack said . Katherine sighed and slapped his arm .

"Hey ! What was that for ?" Jack asked

"I can't even comfort my own babies !"Katherine said crying Into his chest .

"Honey ... They just wanted to see me ... It's okay " Jack said running his hands through her hair .

Jack picked her up bridal style and carried her off to bed . One of the babies began to cry . Katherine sat up. "No... You sleep I'll get the baby " Jack said and kissed her lips .

Katherine went back to sleep and Jack got Angelica .

"Hey guys .... Now I need you to do me a big favor .... I need you both ... Especially you Angelica ... To take it easy on your mom ... She's only 16 kids ... She still a kid ... And while I'm running the country she's taking care of you two and her job is much harder ... So if you could cut her some slack everything would be so much easier .... Okay ? Thanks guys ... Love you both " Jack said and got dressed from bed .

Katherine cuddled into him and he kissed her forehead "I love you " he said and she smiled in her sleep
