A Months Notice

Chapter Thirty-Two

Katherine woke up the day of the their dinner ... Her parents were down the hall thinking it was a state dinner . In fact most of the palace was filled with family and friends .

Katherine and Jack had agreed not to argue while the guests where here just incase they yelled a little too loud on night .

Her stomach was turning .... She got up and sprinted out of bed to the bathroom to throw up ...

"That by far is the most disgusting thing I've ever hear " Jack joked as she flushed the toilet .

"Hahah , very funny Mr. Kelly but as I recall you threw up that night when you were sick during our engagement " Katherine said washing her mouth out .

"Good morning "

"Good morning Jack "

"How are you ?" He asked her when they both left the bathroom.

"Fine "

"How's .... The baby ?"

"That baby is fine "Katherine told him and walked to her closet to find something to wear that wouldn't show off any baby bump even though she hadn't even gained half and ounce yet .

"Can I ? If you don't mind -"

"Go ahead" Katherine smiled to him . Jack put a hand on her stomach. There was no movement ,yet something was strangely comforting about feeling the temporary home of his unborn child .

"Has the baby moved yet ?" Jack asked her .... It was almost a daily occurrence since she had told him .

Before she got read he and Katherine would sit on the sofa in her closet and he's place a hand on her stomach.

"No , it won't for a while " Katherine told Jack looking at him look at her stomach .

"Why not ?"

"The baby has developed a face yet let alone legs " Katherine laughed .

"What ?!"

"The baby looks like a lizard at this time "

"Do you have any pictures ?" Jack asked her moving his hand off her stomach .

"No , I haven't gone to the doctors yet .... At least for photos I will after tonight thought "

"I'm sure Medda would like a photo" Jack said to her .

"She would .... The party isn't for a while tonight so Medda and I are going to be in the hall and just doing double checks on things "Katherine said as she stood up and began to look for something .

"Do you guys need any help ?"

"Do you want to help ?" Katherine asked him.

"I mean technically I'm particularly the cause of this party" Jack said when Katherine came out in a nice light yellow dress . "You look beautiful "

"Thank you " Katherine said and she began to walk away but Jack grabbed her hand . "Jack ?"

He pulled her in and hugged her , his head buried into her shoulder . She smiled to herself and hugged him back .

Jack stood up straight and put his hand under her chin and slightly lifted up her chin.

He looked in her eyes , one hand around her waist and holding on to her . He kissed her lips and Katherine began to melt . She put her hand around his neck .

He kissed her softly and put on hand in her hair , which slowly trailed down her waist . Once his hand was on her waist he took on hand and held it on her cheek .

Katherine pulled away first and hugged him tight. "Hey, you okay ?" Jack asked hugging her back when a tear landed on his shoulder .

"All the hormones and all ... No biggy " Katherine lied ... To her this was a huge deal ! He had just held her and kissed her sweetly.

Katherine held onto him still and it seemed like neither one of them could be the first to let go .

Finally Clara knocked on the door "Breakfast in 30 minutes " she called out and left .

They looked at each other and he kissed her forehead once more before leaving to finish getting ready.

Katherine sat down and applied just a tad dash of makeup till tonight and brushed her hair to be slightly curly with parts of her hair pinned back .

Jack came out all dressed in his suit . Katherine smiled at him . After 25 years he still had trouble with his tie . Katherine walked and tied for him . He kissed her lips again and Katherine happily kissed back .

It was so sweet ... So blissful and that's all Katherine wanted .

They two linked arms and walked out to the dinning hall . Thankfully they would be the only people in their none of the guests would .

Katherine and Jack walked in and saw Medda talking to Victoria and Joseph.

Jack quickly got overprotective of Katherine and moved his chair closer to her .

"Good morning you two " Medda said as coffee was poured .
Medda was the only other person in the room to know about the baby .

"Good morning " Jack said Katherine smiled at him and he winked back at her .

Victoria took note of this and quickly spoke up "How are you this morning Katherine?"

"I'm well .... How are you mother "

"Fine " she gritted her teeth .

Jack nodded at Katherine and she smiled at him .

Victoria was not happy over this secret form of communication.
"Katherine may I speak with you after breakfast?" Victoria demands not even asked her and took a sip of coffee .

"I'm sorry mother but Medda , Jack and I have some finishing touches to do on the party " Katherine said back and began to eat her meal .

Victoria gave dirty looks to Jack and he shrugged them off .

They finished their meal and Medda and the two went to the hall.

"I'll be going to get the clipboard " Medda said .

Jack then grabbed Katherine and kissed her passionately.
