Girl time

We are driving off  and I turn to look back and see Theo with his hand on his cheek and his eyes closed. I knew kissing him on the cheek was a bad idea.

Its just that he is so sweet and genuinely concerned for me it was just an instinct. The thing is I've always kissed my friends when ever I saw fit, but with Theo, I need to be careful.

I let out a big sigh, when Zo, tells me to spill it.

Z-Alright Woodley what is wrong.

S- What do you mean

Z-You look like you just saw a dog get kicked or something

S-Hahaha Zo, I'm just tired I guess.

Z-Oh come on, its been a long day and after all that has happened don't give me the "I'm just tired" speech.

S-Fine okay, you win. Promise you won't say anything

Z-Girl this is me your talking to, remember. Haven't I been good to you all this time.

S- Your right, I'm just, I just can't get Theo out of my head. What am I going to do. The kissing scene was hard enough to deal with, but then when I got hurt and Theo came to my rescue and he went with me to the hospital, and the nurse refered to me as his wife, and I...

Z-HOLD UP!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN HIS WIFE!?!?!?!??!

S-She was an older lady, you could clearly tell she didn't know who we where, and Theo was just so attentive, and she just assumed we where married, and when I tried to correct her, Theo cut me off and just said it was irrelevent at the time to inform her of her mistake because my ankle was the priority.

Z- Oh Shai, I'm sorry sweetie. I can't imagine what you are feeling right now, but do tell.

S-Well Zo I haven't been in many relationships and the few I have been have turned out to be disasters, and I was always content with being on my own, but then Theo came along, and well....

S-I don't know. Why do some girls have all the luck when it comes to guys. Do I have LOSER stamped on my forehead or something.

Z-Hahahaha Woodley very funny. But I get what you mean. Theo is a rare gem, and maybe its the embodiment of what he is, and stands for that you are missing, not necessarily wanting it in him specifically.

S-Zo I'd like to think that, but I genuinely feel this connection with Theo, like he should of been the one for me, and poor Ruth. My god she is such a sweet girl I don't want her to distrust Theo, or hate me.

Z-I have a solution for that, you know. Hire a hit man, that'll solve all your problems.

I start laughing so hard, and punch Zoe in the arm, all the while she is screaming "I'm kidding, I'm kidding."

Woodley I can't tell you what to do she says, but I am here for you. You have to decide what path you want to take with Theo.

I look at Zo and shake my head in agreement, I definately don't want to lose Theo, so I guess "Best friend" status is in my future.

"You know Woodley, there is nothing wrong with that. Sole mates don't always end up being lovers, remember that."

I reach over and grab Zo's hand and tell her thank you, those words where exactly what I needed to hear.

I look at Zo and tell her what is up with the "Woodley" talk....She laughs and apologizes, but all that Dauntless banter has got me in a military vibe, she says.

I just laugh, and crank up the radio as we head home, with her rapping, me singing, and us both shaking around in the car, its a wonder if we make it all the way home without getting pulled over by the cops thinking we are drunk or high on something.

I'm hobbling into the foyer with Zoe carrying all our things when who do we run into...Yep Theo and Ruth, how did he beat us home? We drove off before he did.

All that registers is Ruth, jogging to me, "Oh my god Shai, what happened to you!?" I look over at Theo and he has this look, Ruth turns to him and swats his arm asking why he didn't tell her.

I just tell her its nothing, and gave her the short no Theo included version of my story. She is hugging me asking if I need anything, and Zo is behind her and Theo making mocking faces at me.

I giggle and tell Ruth thank you but I am fine. She turns to Theo and tells him to carry our bags up stairs while she runs to fetch the Jeep. I immediately jump in and tell her we are fine, but Zoe being her says, Thanks that would be great.

I give her the look and she winks at me. Ruth turns and goes and Theo is carrying our bags to the elevator. 

I tell him he really doesn't have to but he says he doesn't mind. We are all in the elevator and man you could hear a pin drop.

Silence all the way to Zoe's floor, once the doors open I turn to Theo and tell him we can take it from here, and as the doors are closing he is just staring and so am I.

I immediately wack Zoe with my crutch once we make it into her apartment, and she is yelling OW what did I do?!

I just laugh and we hit the couch, order pizza, and pull out the wine and junk food she has stored in her kitchen.

Its 1:30 am and we are laughing away watching movies and talking when someone is knocking on the door.

We both are wondering who it is at this hour, when Zo goes to see who it is. O-M-G she says, and I tell her who is it.

She turns to me and says Nahko its that musician guy. What is he doing knocking on my door. 

I close my eyes and all that comes out is the word Nahko.........................
