Distractions

Me and Zoe make it to set, and head for hair and makeup. She starts making small talk with me and I know she is just trying to get my mind off of the current events.

When we walk in no one else is here yet, and I'm grateful. I plop down in Diana's chair (the makeup artist) and tell her I need some serious recon.

She giggles and tells me "Oh it can't be that bad" and when I remove my hat and shades, she spins me around to face her.

"Oh dear, are you okay?" I smile and tell her I'll be alright. Zoe jumps into the chair next to me and tells Jon to work his magic. 

We all start chatting about today's schedule and how we are all sad its coming to an end. We have a moment of silence or should I say sadness and Jon jumps in and asks Zoe about her 

new man.

Her face lights up and she says NAHKO. She goes on and on about him, his music, his body, and most importantly his beliefs.

I smile as I listen to her talk about him. All these things I already know about him. Zoe and him have been texting back and forth since he is touring.

I'm happy for him. They both deserve something good in their lives right now. Nahko has texted me a few times also. I'm glad we can be friends again.

I close my eyes as Di starts to work on my hair. Whatever she put on my skin, I can feel it working. My eyes don't feel so tight and swollen as before.

I'm relaxing and listening to everyone's conversations and the music playing in the background. They are listening to some oldies.

One of my faves comes on and I pop up in my chair. "Turn it up! Turn it up! Jon turns it up and he pulls Zoe and me out of our chairs.

We all start dancing and I'm screaming how this is my favorite movie. He tosses me a hairbrush and I start singing into to, and before I know it we all are singing. 

This right here is what I needed. Jon comes up to me and takes my hair brush and tosses it aside. He pulls me in and we start dancing. 

Of course like dorks we are trying to mimic the dance scene which I know by heart. Zoe and Di are dancing and me and Jon are just laughing as we continue to dance.

He spins me out and pulls me back in, he spins out again and I crash into someone. I'm laughing starting to apologize when mid Sorry I freeze because its Theo.

He is just staring at me, and I slowly lose my laugh and smile. Jon comes up behind me and tells Theo jokingly "Hey get your own dance partner." 

Theo smirks at Jon and backs away with his hands in the air, but he doesn't leave he takes a seat on the coach and is watching us dance.

I look at Theo and he gives me a small wink and smile. I smile back at him and continue dancing with Jon.

I look towards Zoe and Di dancing and she just gives me that nod. Which in Zo language is "You got this."

The song ends and Theo hops up and starts mimicking Neil, "Enough horsing around, we got a film to finish." 

We all laugh and return to our chairs. The rest of the team come in shortly after and that's Theo's cue to remove his shirt to touch up his tattoo. 

Di, who is a sweet older lady "Starts with her "MMmm MMmm MMmmm I never get tired of seeing that." 

We all start laughing and Theo jokingly tells her, "Now hold on their pretty lady, I'm a taken man." With that comment I close my eyes for a bit and mentally tell myself. Yes....Yes you are.

 I think he realizes what he just said and figits in his chair a bit. He awkardly clears his throat,  and looks my way.

I just give him a little smile, letting him know its okay. He nods at me and the conversations starts up between all the different groups.

I zone out as the music plays, and hum the words to the songs. Me and Zo are done before everyone else and are walking to set.

She doesn't ask if I'm doing okay, but instead she is telling me how Nahko is gonna fly in to see her this weekend. 

We are mid girl talk when we turn the corner to head into the warehouse when we bump into Ruth. I immediately apologize and pull her in to a hug.

I play it off, acting surprised like  I didn't know she was in town. She hugs me and Zoe and tells us how she got in late and I was already asleep.

We tell her to walk with us but she says she will catch up with us later, she needs to go find Theo. I tell her he is getting his tattoo touched up in the makeup trailer. 

She hugs Zoe and I and tells us we have to go for drinks later. That is the last thing I want to do right now, but we all agree that it would be "wonderful" to catch up.

Zoe just puts her arm around my shoulder and tells me let's go we have work to do. I laugh a little, and I am grateful to be distracted even if Theo is around. At least I can focus on the film and forget about my personal life for now.
