Courage and Truth

I wake up to the light of day shining through my window. I feel a warmth around me and realize Theo is passed out next to me with his armed wrapped tightly around my waist.

I smile as last night comes back to me, I slowly slip out of his arms and realize I'm still naked. I smirk a little and reach for Theos shirt from last night.

I decide I will go make us breakfast.  I grab my phone and head to the kitchen, I have a bazillion text messages from Zoe.

I totally forgot to text her last night. I don't even bother reading them, I just call her instead. 

Zo! I'm so sorry I forgot to text you last night but.. 

She cuts me off and tells me oh no worries, I just ran into Ruth down here in the lobby and I have been talking her ear off about the party.

I drop my phone on the counter, 

Shai: "Oh Zo sorry, I dropped my phone. "Oh no problem,  um I'm gonna have Ruth stop by my place to help me carry up all the clothes of yours I've been stealing all these months. Zo...clothes what are you talking about? I 

Zoe: You know all  the stuff I've been secretly keeping of yours. We will be up at your place in 20 minutes.

I start to panic when I realize she is just buying us time. I hear Ruth in the background yelling Hi! We hang up and I make a mad dash to my room.

"Theo! Theo!" get up! you have to get out of here. Ruth is down stairs with Zoe and she will be up here in 20 minutes.

Theo: Hahaha, shit Shai very funny!

Shai: Theo get up I'm not joking, she just got in and luckily Zoe was down stairs and she has been keeping her occupied.

Theo finally realizes I'm not joking and hops up like a mad person. Fuck! is all that comes out of his mouth. 

I start handing him all his stuff, making sure their is no evidence of last night in my room. 

I realize I'm still wearing his shirt and strip out of it, not realizing I'm still naked underneath. Yep complete birthday suit.

He is gawking at me, and I slap his arm. I tell him you go! Start breakfast I'm gonna shower.

He heads to the door, and he sees me run my hands through my hair as tears start to fall down my eyes.

Shai baby, its...I cut him off as he starts to make his way towards me. I look him in the eyes and tell him "Just go." 

He doesn't object, but instead turns and walks away. I can see the weight on his shoulders and I go into the bathroom.

I get into the hot steaming shower and just sink to the floor. The tears start to flow, and I wonder why Ruth is back?

What is she doing here? She just left a few days ago. I thought she had to get back to work, or family, or something.

I realize I sound like the jealous mistress who just had her rendevous ruined by the girlfriend.

I fight back the tears as much as I can because I don't want anyone to start asking questions.

Once I'm dressed I decide to put on full makeup. You know to try and hide the sadness in my eyes. 

Zoe comes into my room and asks me if I'm okay. I look her in the eyes and she can tell right away what the answer is.

She doesn't say anything just pulls me in for a hug. I tell her Thank you. She apologizes for not being able to get ahold of me. 

I immediately tell her its my fault. "Zo, that's what I get for playing house with another man's girls." How could I be so stupid. I feel horrible and the worst part of it is. I didn't this morning until I talked to you."
