Lucy Pevensie, a light brown-haired 12 year-old British girl, dressed in a school uniform as today was her first day at school, was running across the road, when a car stopped abruptly in front of her.
"Yikes!" Lucy yelped, as the car stopped in front of her.
"Mind yourself, little girl!" The driver shouted in an angry voice.
"I'm sorry, sir!" Lucy said apologetically as she ran across the street.
Susan, Lucy's older sister, a brunette 16 year-old, standing near a newspaper store. A tall, frail-looking boy standing next to her. He said in a clear, yet shakey voice.
"You go to St. Finbar School?" He asked.
"Yes." Susan said, trying to be friendly, although deep inside her, she doesn't seem to be enthusiastic about meeting the boy.
"I've seen you..." The boy said. "Always by yourself..."
Susan looked at the boy, and then said, "Well, I prefer to be left alone, so yes."
"Me too." The boy said, and then Susan rolled her eyes. "What's your name?"
Susan sighed, putting her chin in the air proudly as she looked the boy in the eye.
"Phyllis." Susan answered, lying perfectly, which is something she could only quite master at.
"Susan!" a voice cried out, and Susan saw Lucy running from the opposite direction to grip her arm. Lucy gave the boy a glance, and turned to Susan.
"You'd better come quickly." Lucy said and Susan nodded, and placed the paper down.
Susan didn't bother to say goodbye to the boy, so she followed Lucy back across the road to the train station.
"What happened?" Susan asked, but Lucy didn't answer her question until they entered the underground station.
"Peter is fighting again," Lucy answered breathlessly, and Susan realized what was going on.
Peter, who is 17, the oldest of the siblings, had been apt to violence. He was not accustomed to being treated like a seventeen year old, but rather the twenty-four year old king that he once had been, since their return from Narnia last year.
The sisters raced up as they heard shouting in the underground station, pushing through the heavy crowd of students of all ages that formed a circle around the scene, with their brother, Peter, coming into view.
Peter was being pushed around by two boys around his age, both taller and heavier than him, and both rather looking muscular however.
Regardless, Peter was out numbered, and Lucy gasped as one of the boys slammed him into a wall face first.
Peter looked at his siblings in the crowd, and saw Susan's expression that meant "Not again.", but then she felt a bump on her shoulder.
Edmund, a black-haired 15-year old boy, and the second youngest of the siblings, break through the crowd and jump onto the back of the boy who was not holding Peter.
Edmund threw the boy to the ground and kicked him in the gut before turning onto the others, who are holding Peter's face to the dirty ground.
There was a sharp whistle blow, and all the students were escorted away, and the station guards pulled the boys up, and one of them shouted at Peter, "Act your age!" which earned him a glare from Edmund, who was pulled away by another station guard.
Then, ten minutes later, the siblings found a bench to sit on. Edmund carried the suitcases and placed it beside the bench.
"You're welcome." Edmund muttered, sitting down on a bench with his siblings. But Peter looked at him begrudgingly.
"I had it sorted." Peter said, looking at him with frustration. He got up from the bench and took a few steps away from the bench.
"What was it this time?" Susan asked. Peter did not bother sparing her a glance.
"He bumped me." Peter said, without giving his siblings a glance.
"So you hit him?" Lucy asked, both confusedly and angrily.
"No." Peter said and turned to his siblings. "After he bumped me, they tried to make me apologize, so that's when I go hard on him."
Edmund and Lucy looked at each other in exasperation and Susan rolled her eyes.
"Really, Peter?" Susan asked in a irksome voice. "It is really hard for you just to walk away?" But then, Peter get frustrated with Susan.
"I shouldn't have to!" Peter bursted out. His younger siblings looked at him. "I mean, don't you three ever got tired of being treated like a kid?"
"We are kids!" Edmund laughed, looking at his older brother as if he was crazy.
"Well, I wasn't always!" Peter said in exasperation. The siblings at each other as Peter sat back down with them. "It's been a year." He kept on and the siblings realized that it has been a year since their return from Narnia
As they think of Narnia, they realized how much they missed it, because it was a peaceful, wonderful place and it feels like home for them. Being back in England in the form of a dull country, they suddenly feel homesick.
"Well, I think it's time to accept that we live here, Peter." Susan emphasized. "There's no use for pretending to be any different."
The Pevensie siblings sat in silence. Then, Susan looked to her left and stopped short.
Oh, god." Susan's heart sank. Lucy looked over her shoulder. It was the same nerdy-looking boy was making his way towards them. Lucy looked at Susan and giggled.
"Pretend you're talking to me." Susan instructed her siblings.
"We are talking to you." Edmund answered sarcastically.
Susan looked at Edmund as if she wants to smack him. Lucy gasped and jumped out of her seat as she felt that she was stabbed in the back.
"Ow!" Lucy cried out.
"What are you doing?" Peter demanded in a hissing voice.
"Something pinched me!" Lucy said, pointing at her seat.
Her siblings looked at her like she had gone mad for a moment, but Peter jumped up, crying out just like she had.
"What the hell?" Edmund shouted as he jumped out of his seat.
"Okay, the three of you need to...!" Susan shouted and then she jumped up. "What on earth was that?" She demanded.
"It feels like magic!" Lucy cried out.
"Okay, all of you hold hands!" Susan instructed everyone.
"I'm not holding your hands!" Edmund cried out, but Peter yanked his arm and shouted at him, "Would you just?"
"Hold on, everyone!" Peter then turned to his siblings.
Lucy smiled as she watched the passing train speed up to a strange limit, and the wall surrounding the tunnel it emerged from crumbling.
The station ended, there was a caboose flying by in a flash before the brick wall disappeared entirely, and a beach standing before them.
Lucy turned to look over her shoulder, seeing that the underground station had disappeared, and they saw that they were standing in the sand, the waves of the ocean crashing before them wildly.
Lucy pulled her hand from her brother's grasp, stepping forward to take a good look before turning around to face her siblings, smiling at them playfully, seeing the three of them giving her the same look. They're back in Narnia!
Lucy giggled before ripping off her maroon sweater and kicking off her shoes, darting forward to throw herself into the salty water.
The four ran to the beach and started splashing water at each other. They're really back. They never felt this happy before.
Edmund then looked up the cliffs and wore a strange expression on his face. Peter saw it and asked him, "What is it, Ed?"
"Where are we actually?" Edmund asked, and Peter snorted.
"Where do you think?" Peter asked.
"Well, I don't remember any ruins in Narnia." Edmund said thoughtfully.
The siblings then looked up the cliff and thought about what Edmund said. They saw that structures looked quite strange. But this strikes everyone a thought. Did something happened to Narnia without their knowledge?
