Meanwhile, back in the How, everyone were waiting for Edmund's return from his task. Apparently, it was only forty-five minutes since he left for Miraz's camp.
"I hope Edmund is doing well on his mission." Peter said to himself.
Then, a sudden thought came to Peter's mind. As he thought of it, he turned to Bastila.
"Mind if I talk to you about something?" Peter asked and Bastila nodded. He pulled her to the far corner.
"Do you know anyone else that hates Miraz as much as we do?" Peter asked.
Bastila thought for a minute and then shook her head.
"No, everyone in this hall are the only ones left." Bastila said, "Well, there could be more, but either they're dead or Miraz caught them."
Peter then thought for a moment and then another thought came to his head.
"Well, I remember Caspian said that there was this person, Lord Sanchez." Peter said, "What's his relationship with Miraz?"
Bastila then hesitated and then look uneasy. "Well, it's a complicated story."
"Elaborate." Peter said.
"Well, back then, Miraz and Sanchez used to be best friends and then they both rebelled against Aslan and both of them gave a speech to them and asked everyone to join them." Bastila explained, "And then many people were so motivated to follow them."
"And I'm guessing you didn't follow them and you fought for Aslan." Peter predicted and Bastila nodded.
"Yeah, and then a war began and many people on our side were killed in the battle." Bastila said, "And then Aslan saw what happened and that's when he left us."
Peter looked shocked at this. He thought that he and his siblings are why Aslan abandoned Narnia, but it turns out that there was another explanation to all this.
"So what then?" Peter asked again.
"Well, Miraz and Sanchez ruled Narnia together, with Sanchez as Miraz's apprentice." Bastila said, "And then something went bad between them and Sanchez left Miraz and created his own army."
"Okay, so I guess they call for a truce a while later." Peter predicted, but Bastila shooked her head slightly.
"No, they never did." Bastila said. "Why are you asking me all about this?"
Peter sighed and then put his hand on Bastila's shoulder.
"I'm too scared to admit that I'm not ready for this." Peter said uncomfortably. "So I thought about that Sanchez can do the job."
Bastila then looked uneasy again. "Well, about that, he won't be for two reasons."
