They walked for a long while more before they reached a cliff about forty feet fall. At the end there was the river. They all looked down at it. Susan gave Peter a hard look.

"See." Susan started. "Over time water erodes the earth soil, cutting deep into..."

"Oh, shut the hell up." Peter interrupted her.

"Is there a way down?" Edmund asked Trumpkin.

"Yeah, falling" Trumpkn said.

"Well, we weren't lost." Peter said in dismay.

"There's a ford at Beruna." Trumpkin told them. "How do you feel about swimming?"

"It's better than walking." Susan grumbled.

The group all started walking back, when Lucy spoke up.

"Aslan? It's Aslan! It's Aslan, over there!" Lucy cried out and the group turned around and looked at the spot she was pointing.

Apart from more bushes, soil and tress.

"Don't you see, he's right..." Lucy said and then trailed off, as she looked at the empty spot, "...there." She finished her sentence.

"Do you see him now?" Trumpkin asked jokingly. Lucy gave him a death glare.

"I'm not crazy!" Lucy retorted angrily. "He was there! He wanted us to follow him!"

Peter looked at the empty spot and then at Lucy and put both hands on her shoulder. "I'm sure there are any number of lions in this wood," He told her softly. "Just like that bear."

"I think I know Aslan when I see him." Lucy said, slightly hurt.

"Look, you four." Trumpkin retorted. "I'm not about to jump off a damn cliff and go after someone who doesn't exist."

"Well, the last time I didn't believe in Lucy, I ended up looking pretty stupid." Edmund pointed out, referring to his past experience in Narnia.

Peter looked at the empty spot again. "Why wouldn't I have seen him?" He asked after a moment.

"Probably, you weren't looking." Lucy said.

"I'm sorry, Lu." Peter said apologetically. He then walked on with Susan and Trumpkin.

Lucy looked at the empty spot again. She never felt this hurt before. She was wishing that Peter and Susan believed her, although Susan did not comment much about, so she doesn't know if she believed her or not.

Lucy looked at Edmund with tears on her eyes.
