Chapter Thirteen

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

{JANICE POV}

It had been a while and I was really enjoying my 2 weeks there.

My parents were always fun to be around and talk to, and I always missed my little brother.

I wanted to bond a little more with him, so I said I would take him to the mall. He was already in 10th grade, he had just turned 16 a couple of months ago. When I left home, we both were sad because we were actually close.

He was the main reason I came back so often. But lately I had just gotten caught up in my own world.

I had moved out once I started going to the University, I figured it was closer and it'd be nice to have the full college experience. After my second year I found a nice flat in the complex where I am now and I've been there ever since.

I just graduated a few weeks back and right now I was kind of on break. I had a few jobs every here and there but nothing permanent yet. But my parents were really proud that I had finished college and they were supportive in my needs.

They told me I could continue living in my flat just as long as I didn't give up on looking for a job/career and I promised I would come back more often.

"So how has school been?" I asked.

"It's been good, I think I'm doing pretty good in all my classes."

"Thats good, you better not fail anything!"

"I'll try my best! Just kidding I won't."

"So, do you have a girlfriend now?" I asked as we took our food and sat down at an empty table in the food court.

"Well, I'm sort of talking to this girl, but were not together or anything yet."

"How cute! I hope it all works out, and whatever you do, treat her right and don't break her heart."

"Haha, I won't. How about you? Do you have a boyfriend, fiancé, husband or something?"

My grin disappeared. I looked down at my food and took a sip from my soda.

"Um, no." I said quietly.

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine, it's just something happened, and I wanted to get away from the drama so that's why I came so unexpectedly, but I'm glad I came, you guys make me feel so much better."

"Oh, well whenever you want to tell me what happened, I'm all ears. You're my big sister, and if someone hurt you, I'll beat them up!"

We both laughed.

"And that's why I love you James. Well we'll talk about that later, lets just enjoy our time together!"

We ate and then stayed at the mall for another hour or two.

Later on that night, Sonia called me and told me something had happened, but she didn't go into details because she didn't want to ruin my "vacation".

She said it was something predictable though. I stayed wondering what had happened. I wanted to know, but I didn't want any bad news. So I said I would wait till I was back to find out myself.

{NIALL POV}

I didn't know how exactly I was going to tell Janice what happened that night, or what was happening now. But I had to, it was the right thing to do, but to be honest, I was scared and nervous.
