I Try

I try to hold back these tears,
Yet they flow down my cheeks.

I try to hide the pain,
So no one asks if I am okay.

I try to face my fears,
But they grow stronger.

I try to stay happy,
No one can see my sorrow.

I try to act like everything is okay,
It's never okay.

The darkness finds away through my shield,
I let people down.

I try to show my strength,
But most know I'm not strong on the inside.

I try to reveal my pain to people I trust,
Only one truly understands.

I try to keep it all hidden,
Everyone can clearly see.

I can't keep secrets...
I can't keep people happy...
I can't show happiness, but...
