Promises

To me,
A promise is everything.

They tell you a lot,
They show someone's true side.

If your "friend" can keep a promise,
They're worth keeping.

If your "friend" can't seem to keep their traps shut,
They aren't worth telling your life to.

I came up with my own way for people to know when I mean a promise,
Wolf's Honor.

This means I am swearing upon the honor a wolf holds for others,
You can make your own too.

If I say 'I promise',
I might not mean it.

Promises mean everything,
They can control your life.

Most people that make promises to me don't ever keep them,
It hurts.

A while back,
A close friend of mine made a strong promise that they wouldn't go after the person I felt strongly for if anything happened.

They didn't keep it,
But I know that not everyone can keep a promise.

So before you make a promise to me,
Ask yourself if you will be able to keep that promise first.

Think of what pain I will suffer through if more and more people do these things to me,
It hurts.

I'm getting better at being happy,
I'm winning my life back.

If I ask you to promise me something,
Don't say you will immediately.

It makes you seem desperate to know my secrets,
It makes you seem weak.

Stop and ask yourself if you can keep the promise,
If you can- accept it.

One last thing...

If someone you trust breaks a promise,
They should get another chance.

They won't be in your life forever,
So make them last.
