Growing Too Close

I have grown so close,
I cannot understand how or why.

I fell in love,
Truly in love.

Everyone I trust cannot be forgotten,
Yet I am everyday.

I grew too close to you,
Now I can't let go.

I have never felt safe around anyone,
except you.

I have never loved,
Until I met you.

I have always been mentally abused by everyone,
Once even you...

Yet I have grown so close that I get jealous when anyone is trying to flirt with you.

I have shown nothing but love and sorrow...

I show affection and pain,
I never knew how to show love.

I knew someday someone else was going to show affection for you stronger than I ever have in a simple way.

Someone would have more courage than me and I see why you left...

I was growing too close.

I have grown so close it hurts.
