Mind Gone Astray

Sharp razor blades,
Following bad memories.

Shaking form,
Tear-stained face.

Dark red shades,
Caused by hidden accessories.

Drugs hidden in an unusual form,
Friends would notice and you'd feel disgrace.

Holding the bag,
Body aching.

Wishing it would end,
Just so you'd be done.

Blood stained rag,
Your heart breaking.

Realizing who you would offend,
You wish it was already gone.

Closing your eyes,
Cuddling the pills.

With a breathless sigh you put them away,
Washing the knife and returning it to it's rightful place.

With quiet cries,
You shudder with heated chills.

With your mind gone astray,
You breathe three words you soon misplace.

These words you've never said before.

Words you wish weren't real.

You know this wasn't you,
But you can't find the words you got to choose. You whisper a soft goodnight to the moon and curl up in a ball with nothing but a pillow on the floor.

Maybe another day.
