This Is the End

One week later…

I marched up to the front gates of the prison center that my brother was being housed at until his court date. I was determined to get down to the bottom of this whole Tyler nonsense. Cassie really did up and leave me. Jona never once called, not even to say goodbye…

I wiped another tear off my face. I really hadn’t been able to stop crying since the concert. The guys had thought Tyler had come back to finish what he had started. But even explaining what had really happened hadn’t helped much. They were all really mad at both Jona and Cassie for just leaving. But I wasn’t. I couldn’t be mad at them…

I flashed my visitor’s badge at the security guard. He nodded and opened the gates for me. I handed over my purse and stepped through the metal detectors. The other security guard patted me down. After I had been cleared, they handed me back my bag and led my down the hallway. Since my brother wasn’t a convicted felon, I could still see him face to face. They led me into the little room where I usually met him. I sat down at the small, round table and waited for him to be brought out. I tapped my fingers anxiously on the table.

Finally, they brought out my brother, Jaxon. He smiled warmly at me as the guards sat him down.

“Hey sis!” he said. He reached over the table and hugged me tightly. I gave him a small hug back.

“Hi, Jax,” I said.

“So what have you been up to? Still with that guy?” he asked. I glared at him.

“Jax, we talked about this the last time I was here. We are on a break,” I snapped. His face scrunched up in confusion.

“I don’t remember that,” he said quietly.

“Well, I’m telling you now. We’re on a break,” I said. “But that’s not what I’m here to talk to you about,” I said.

“Well talk away, sissy,” he said. I rolled my eyes. He was completely oblivious to just how angry I was. I wanted to reach across the table and smack that stupid grin off his face.

“Jax, have you been talking to Tyler?” I said. He smirked.

“No,” he said. I sighed heavily.

“Are you sure?”

“Okay, yes, I have been,” he said. He still smirked at me.

“Why?”

“Because, he’s been helping me out here,” he said. He leaned back in his chair and cross his arms.

“I’m now Mr. Popular here, Brod,” he said. He was really pleased with himself, which made me want to hit him even harder.

“What are you talking about?” I asked, trying to keep my cool.

“Well, can you keep a secret?” he asked. He leaned forward across the table, motioning for me to come closer. I sighed, but played along with is little game.

“What?”

“Tyler has made me the most popular guy here in prison,” he said. I sighed heavily.

“Jax, quit beating around the bush; tell me what is happening,” I snapped. He only smiled that cheesy smile.

“Well, Tyler has been hooking me up with the greatest shit known to man kind here,” he said.

“And that is what?”

“Pot,” he mouthed. My face fell to the floor.

“You- what?” I whispered.

“That’s right. He’s been scoring me big here, and it’s fucking great Brodie!” he whispered.

“But… Jax… you’re in here for drug charges! You could get in so much trouble if you get caught!” I hissed. He shook his head.

“Not if you’re a sweet angel like me,” he said. I couldn’t believe this. My brother was actually trafficking drugs in prison.. On a drug charge that he had gotten thrown in here for!

“Jax, this is wrong! This is beyond wrong!” I whispered.

“No, sis, you aren’t seeing the big picture. You see, being the popular kid in prison is kind of a big deal. Tyler has been hooking me up and helping out big time, and the only thing he wants in return is you. So I’ve been helping him out,” he said.

“How is this even possible!”

“It’s easy, because I play the good kid role. When you are a good kid, they don’t say too much,” he said.

“Jax, no. This can’t be happening. Tell me you’re joking,” I whispered.  Jax had gotten busted for drugs a few months back, but he claimed they weren’t his. Now, he was just waiting for his hearing. But he had claimed innocence the whole time. But now, after hearing what I had just heard… I wasn’t so sure my brother was as innocent as he claimed to be…

“Brodie, look, Tyler really loves you. He just wants to be with you. Can’t you give him another chance?” he asked. My face fell to the floor.

“Jaxon, you about kicked his ass last year when he threatened to kick my ass!” I squeaked.

“It was all a misunderstanding,” he said. I couldn’t believe this. My own brother had sold me out to my crazy ex over drugs…

“This can’t be happening,” I whispered. I quickly stood up and grabbed my bag.

“Where are you going, Brodie?” he asked. I whipped around to face him.

“I hope your ass gets thrown in prison. For good. You aren’t innocent. You’re just a fucking screw up druggie. I can’t believe that I actually believed you,” I said. I walked away from him, ignoring his angry shouts. I ran past the guards and out the door. I sprinted towards my car and threw the door open. I sunk down into the driver’s seat as tears fell quickly down my face.

My own brother, my family, the only sibling I had, sold me out. For drugs that he could traffic in prison. I couldn’t believe this.

“Are things ever going to get better?”

Okay guys, I’m so terribly sorry if these updates suck majorly. I’m just trying to get past all the sad stuff. I hope this update at least made sense.
