When I woke up the next morning, the guys were still passed out. I pushed myself carfully off the couch and stepped over Danny, who had seemingly passed out right next to the couch. I had no idea where Oli was.
Matty was sitting in the kitchen when I came in. I smiled a good moring.
"Hey, party pooper," he said. I frowned.
"I'm not a party pooper. I jsut didn't want to drink. I am carrying a baby, you know," I said. He rolled his eyes. "Where is Oli?"
"i think he went to the studio," he said. munching down on his bowl of cereal. I raised and eye brow at him.
"Why?" He shrugged. I sighed and left te kitchen.
Oli was so mysterious about his music. He was always trying to brush it off like it didn't mean much to him, but I knew it did. He was probably hiding from fans and maybe even me. I hadn't heard the new album yet, and I wasn't even sure when I was going to get a c hance to listen to it.
I trotted up the stairs to check if Oli was in our room. Oskar was sound asleep on our bed, but there was no sign of Oli. I sighed heavily and shut the door. Oskar's head popped up, and his body quivered with excitment as I came closer to the bed.
"Morning, silly boy," I said. I scooped him up and kissed him on the head. I flopped down on the bed, only to jump back up. Something hard stabbed me in the back. I grumbled slightly and rubbed the sore spot.
Laying on the bed where I tried to lay down was a CD case. It was black with golden, entricate symbol drawn on it. The word "Sempiternal" was written under neath it.
"Oskar, did Oli put this here?" I whispered. I flipped it over. The track listing was written in the same golden color. "This must be Oli's new CD," i said. I pulled the case out of the cover and flipped it open. Inside, a yellow sticky note was stuck to the booklet.
Check out track three on the second CD. -Oli
I looked back down at Oskar. His little tail wiggled up at me.
"What is that boy up to?" I asked. Two CD's were inside the case. I pulled out the second one and walked over to Oli's stereo system and sat back down on the bed.
The track started up slowly. Matty's steady drum beats made my eyes heavy. I laid back down one the bed.
Eyes like a car crash
I know I shouldn't look but I can't turn away.
Body like a whiplash,
Salt my wounds but I can't heal the way
I feel about you.
I watch you like a hawk
I watch you like I'm gonna tear you limb from limb
Will the hunger ever stop?
Can we simply starve this sin?
That little kiss you stole
It held my heart and soul
And like a deer in the headlights I meet my fate
Don't try to fight the storm
You'll tumble overboard
Tides will bring me back to you
And on my deathbed, all I'll see is you
The life may leave my lungs
But my heart will stay with you
That little kiss you stole
