"This is just going to go on your stomach. It's nice and warm, though, so just try and relax," the nurse said. Oli squeezed my hand tightly as I let out another shaky breath. Today was my first ultrasound since I had been released from the hospital, and to say in the least, I was nervous. I guess I was still a little unsure about the whole ordeal.
"Will we be able to see it?" Ben asked. Him and Jordan also wanted to be here with me today. The nurse smiled slighty and shook her head.
"It is atill quite small. Brodie is only two months along," she said.
"When can we find out the gender?" Oli asked. I knew he was nervous too, despite his calm demenier.
"Another couple weeks or so. Right now, it's still to early," she said. She pressed the instramunt into my stomach. She moved it around a few times before she finally found what she was looking for, a strong, steady heart beat.
"It sounds very healthy. You're going to have no problems with the baby," she said. I sighed my relief and leaned back in the bed as the guys all crowded around the screen to try and see the baby. The ooeh and awed for a few minutes before the nuse made them sit down so I could see myself. I could see it's tiny beating heart. I couldn't help but to smile.
"She's going to be great," Oli whipsered. i raised an eye brow at him.
"She? It's a heart beat right now, how can you tell it's a she?" I asked. he only smiled.
"I just know. She's going to be beautiful just like you," he whispered. He kissed my forhead softly. The nuse smiled at us as she wiped off my stomach.
"You two make a lovely couple. Do you have names picked out?" she asked.
"Yes. She does anyway," Oli said.
"That's good," she said. I pulled my shirt down. Oli offered his hand to me. I grunted slightly as he pulled my to my feet.
"So when is the next time I need to come in?" I asked.
"We'll need to see you in another month or so," she said. I nodded and started to walk out the door, but she pulled me aside. "Can I speak with you for a few seconds?" she asked. Oli raised his eye brow at me.
"It's okay. You guys go ahead. I'll be there soon," I said. I stepped back inside the room and sat back down.
"What's up? Is there something wrong?" I asked after she had settled down as well.
"How are you doing, Brodie?" she asked. I raised my eye brow at her.
"I'm fine? Why are you asking?"
"Well I know you haven't been coming into our group thereapy sessions, and I just wanted to make sure you were doing okay," she said. I sighed slightly.
"I'm okay most days. I mean, I'm surrounded by ten absolutely hilarious men all day long, so they keep me pretty well entertained and happy. But it's the nights when Oli is gone, or I'm home alone that it gets hard. I don't know what I'm going to do when Warped Tour starts up. It's hard enough now with the album being out. Fans are always at the house, and the guys are gone away with signings and the guys from AA are wroking on their next album and it's just kinda hard sometimes," I said. I took and deep breath and slummped back in the chair.
"Well maybe you shouldn't stay at home when they leave," she said.
"I can't. I'm not supposed to be in the studio when the guys are working," I said.
"Well wht about Warped Tour? I mean, I don't think there is a rule about significant others being present," she said. I twirled a lose strand of hair around my finger while I mulled it over.
