Stay calm, just stay calm. I repeat to myself over and over. How did he find out so soon? Did they catch those young Soles? It couldn't be. They would have been able to trace my magic back to me. Could it have been someone from Nix? No, they would have given my name out.
"Daddy?" Nikholas stares at me as i pace back and forth. Irenaues is postponing the meeting by three hours. Just enough time to take Nikholas to Nix and back. Or...just enough time to take him and run. In three hours they'll get suspicious. They'll give me about four before they assume I'm the traitor. And no one betrays Irenaues.
"Hey, wanna go on a trip? It'll be you, and me." i scoop him off the floor and start for the door.
"Me, Daddy and Mommy's sissy?" i frowned when his wide eyes held mine.
"We just talked about this. She's gone now. Like Mommy."
"Not what mommy said." He crossed his arms annoyed, but not annoyed enough to walk himself.
"Fine, we'll talk about this later." With that said, i take off into the dreary grey sky. We're going as far away as possible. As soon as possible.

Everywhere i looked, i was met with glares. The cool kids, the popular kids, the jocks, even the weirdos. They all glared at me as i walked through the halls. Heaving a sigh, i stop at my locker in between classes to get my Chemistry textbook. It has just been a bad day. I heard the Melody of Death again this morning. Its been playing nonstop all weekend. I just want to go home and sleep. But surely i can make three more classes.
"Hey boyfriend stealer." Maybe i spoke to soon.
I ignore the girls by my locker and enter the combination. Just as i opened, it was slammed shut. Taking a deep breath, i face Jennifer's gang. Both the Blonde and the Brunette are glaring at me. Surprisngly, Jennifer herself isn't here. Not that that makes it any better.
"May i help you?"
"How could you just waltz in here and steal someone's boyfriend. You're not even pretty." the brunette sneered.
"Yeah. They have won prom king and queen for the past two years! This year would have been a new record" the blond glared at me as if i was the most disguisting thing to ever exist on the face of the planet.
"You are assuming they would have won this year. Maybe they were destined to break up anyway. I didn't steal anything from anyone. She can have him. I don't want him." I turned away from them and headed down the hall, forgetting my chemistry book.
As i reach the corner, two really big guys block my path. Judging by their phyisique, i'd say they played football. I stumble back a bit before altering my course, but before i make it far, I'm blocked by a few cheerleaders. They glare at me. Turnig back towards my locker, i see Jennifer make her way through the throngs of her minions. Her brown eyes locked on mine. I knew i should've stayed home today.
"What have you done to my poor Zeekie? How did you lure him away, witch."
"I didn't do anything."
"Really? Why did he break up with me?"
Because you're psychotic.
"Why did he leave me Friday night to take you somewhere. Giving it up on the first day. Slut."
"What are you talk-"
She cut me off with an open handed slap. My cheek stung when i clutched it. No doubt it was welping up because of the silver ring on her index finger. "You're disguisting. You short piece of trash. That's why you have no friends. No one sympathesies or even cares about a child no one wanted in the first place."
