+Haven+
Little colorful winged creatures lead me back to my own Soul. The Runi Falls and the Golden days that I had saw earlier were not my soul. They were a transit station that Soles could use to cross between different inner sanctums. Because I was looking to go to my mother's, instead of ending up in mine, it sent me to transition site. It's pretty cool to know your soul can change where it leads depending on your intentions.
Now I'm back in my inner sanctum. The trees are practically illuminated against the brilliant sun. The incessant, pleasant breeze plays with the leaves.
Birds cawing and chirping fly about. I was curious as to why there were animals in my soul but now, I understand. They're the guardians of our essence. Only they can re-establish a connection that has been severed. With that said, they can only reforge the connection. I'll need sources from the outside world to actually use my essence before drawing upon the essence here.
I follow the birds' chirping and arrive at a fairly large tree. The first ten feet or so hand no branches but the higher it got the more it came to life. It had a huge canopy filled with little colorful flowers. I could hear chirping from the top.
Being the excellent tree climber I am, it shouldn't be a problem reaching that. But even as I think this, I'm a bit unsure. The tallest tree I've ever climbed was the one in the town square. Jake and I use to race to see who could make it to the top first. I always won cuz he was afraid of heights. This one makes that one look kike the plants they hang up at school.
I take a quick glance around and head for a nearby tree. It had the same colorful flowers but was half the size. With little struggle, I climbed up until I could grab onto a branch on the first tree. Then I continued climbing up.
As the chirping got louder and closer, a white bird with a light blue and gold feathered tail came into view. When it spotted me, it tilted it's head at me, it's black eyes a little daunting. They were empty like a moonless night. Nothing resided in them but darkness. Something about them reminded me of the Fades wings. They too have off a hollow feeling.
The bird flapped it's wings hard, sending a gust of wind spiraling towards me. I should have been prepared, but being me I wasn't. The gust of wind knocked me off and I was sent flying through the forest.
I landed with a thud and upon opening my eyes I saw a giant brown cat with tuffs of fur coming off the tip of its ears. It had bright yellow tilted eyes. It stood on my stomach staring at me for a few seconds after the world stopped spinning. Then with no prior warning wings sprouted out from its back and it flew away, leaving rays of sunlight in its wake.
I waited to move. But when I did, I noticed a lack of sound. The fields were easily quiet and more over the sky had dimmed. Sunset had arrived but instead of its brilliant purples, reds, and oranges, there was varying shades of dark blue and a bit of dark yellow dying the sky.
A sharp pain rushed up my spine out of nowhere. It was so sudden and sharp that tears stung my eyes. I collapsed back to the ground on all fours when another string of pain came, this time around my ribs. Slamming my eyes shut I willed myself away from my inner sanctum.
Opening my eyes, I see the same small room as before. But this time the steel door is wide open and two Fades are staring down at me. One I had never met the other I had seen once before. I had only ever seen those dark of eyes on one person ever.
"Haven Sky, you're awake. How lovey for you to join us."
Instantly, I knew I was in trouble. The way he said my name confirmed it both mine and Kaz's suspicions. What's his face knew who I was this entire time. He knew who I was long before Kaz did. The fact that he chose to wait to kill me was because he wanted to bring down more people. He could have easily had control over Janu months ago. I wouldn't have been able to put up a fight. But he doesn't want Janu. He doesn't care about its destruction. What he does want is revenge.
Despite the tension that corded my muscles, my voice came out steady. "You're the one whose after Kaz, aren't you, Coach Glover"
I'm going to bet you don't remember who Glover is. He's the coach of the Track team and he only appeared in the first chapter for a few measly paragraphs.
Sorry this is short. But I figured the best way put of writers block is to write what you can and take a break review after some time. The next chapter will be better.
