†Haven†
Silence filled the room after Alex's outburst. Okay, maybe I said somethings that i shouldn't. I just really don't like blood and Ziek lost a lot of it. Just like Jake did. I bit my lip to prevent me from falling back into that memory again.
"Haven what plan is she talking about? " Surprisingly, Kaz didn't sound angry but then again, he doesn't know the whole truth either.
"Elliot and I figured out a way for you to temporarily open the gate." I waited for the explosion of anger but it didn't come. I take a peek out the corner of my eye and push my hair out of my face. He looked calm. As if he knew this entire time.
He deciphered my confused look and explained. "I was thinking of a way to leave too. But the exact opposite. I would love to send you and Nikohlas back through the portal while I deal with Lord Irenaeus. I can't say I'm surprised we were thinking alike."
"So...you're not mad?"
He gave me one of those smiles. "No dummy. I understand the desire to protect your Destined. It's natural for any of us. Sole or Fade"
i didn't realize i was so worried about him being angry until a sensation made all my muscles relax, relief.
"As for the puppy in there, I may know what's wrong with him."
"Are you talking about Ziek or Melon?"
"Obviously Ziek"
"What's wrong with him." I grit my teeth waiting for his answer. What if it's irreversible? Or if the Reaper stole some essential part that Shifters need to heal?
"Internal bleeding. That's why she can't stop him from bleeding. Even if you close up a wound. It'll just swell with all the blood pushing against it until it bursts back open."
"That sounds like a human problem. Couldn't we just take him to a doctor then?"
"You could, if you want to explain how he got hurt."
"No. I don't think 'A reaper attacked him' would be very convince-able."
He nods. "I don't think so either. But, light is a universal healer. You can heal him."
i could feel a smile coming on. "Are you serious? How?"
"I don't know for sure. But healing with light magic comes naturally. Essence is recycled. When you use it, someone else absorbs it. The light essence in you has been used to heal others before. Let it tell you how to." He stood up and faced me. There was an undeniably sad look in his eyes. " If you can't figure out how too, the Queen of Janu, your mother, was infamous for her.... unusual healing methods. With the right materials, you should be able to get in contact with her." He left before i could get a word in.
What the heck is wrong with him? I asked myself as i took a peek in my room. The sun slants through the blinds, giving my room a warm glow. Ziek is unconscious on my bed, Melon sleeps on the floor by him, and Alex is no where to be seen.
I take in a deep breath before settling down on the chair we placed by the bed.
How am i supposed to heal him? I close my eyes and picture the lamp in my head. But when i ask myself again, the lamp morphs into a pair of grey eyes full of grief and heartache.
I wish i could get rid of the lingering pain in Kaz's eyes.
~Alex~
The moment Ziek was out cold, i took off. I don't know much of wolves, but for Lynx's i know that there's a flower that can heal any pain, any illness, anything. It's called the Moondrop. You can only find it on a full moon night where the moonlight touches the mountains.
