"Daddy Havy gone"

That's the first thing I hear when I wake. I stop trying to see the time and quickly jump up.

"Are you sure?"

He nods slowly.  "Can't find her"

Damn it Haven. This isn't the time to be running off. I swear she doesn't understand the importance of listening. Or how to take safety precautions.  Or anything that I tell her to do.

Nikohlas tugs on my hand.  "here go"

I look at the small pink sticky paper thing. On it,  written in Haven's  crooked handwriting is a note.

½
Give Niko 2 tablespoons of tylenol at 10:20 I already measured it out.  Small plastic top on first shelf in the fridge.

I frown before crumbling up the note. It would have been so helpful if she didn't just disappear.

I watch Nikohlas tug on his ear and know it's time for his medicine.  I'll take his temperature again too.

"Let's go get some food" I lie as I scoop him up. Getting him to take the medicine yesterday was a headache. I almost think he'd rather stay in pain than take it. Haven had to bribe him with a muffin before he'd take it.

I'm pulled back to the here and now when a foot lands on my chin.  Nikohlas is really starting to hate being carried.  Whenever I pick him up,  he struggles to get back down. To think,  just months ago he wouldn't go to sleep unless he was being held.  Now he absolutely abhors being held unless he sees stairs.  He doesn't like stairs.

As we get to the stairs, he gives up on getting down and leans over my arm "I want Havy. "

"She'll be back soon."

"Now"

"Later "

He looks up at me while making this face I'm sure he's picked up from Haven.  What has she done to my son? "Now! "

"Later"

When I hear noises coming from outside, I stop on the stairs and wait for her to open her door.

"Havy! " Nikohlas smiles and literally leaps from my shoulder the moment she does.

"Hey Niko. How you feeling?" She catches him in a hug.

She's covered in snow from head to toe. If I didn't know her, I would've thought she'd take the time to change,  but of course she wouldn't do that. Especially after hearing how much Niko missed her.

He tugs on his ear some more and starts chanting "havy home"

"Morning Kaz" she balances Nikohlas on her hips and smiles at me, but when she sees the look on my face,  she starts talking fast . "Okay I know you're mad that I left.  But I found out some info from Elliot and Alex. "

Her door opens once again.  Alex and the dog step out,  completely covered in snow,  like Haven.

"Hey Kaz"

"Hey " I give a nod in return.

Haven frowns.  "You knew Cinnamon was a person!?"

"You didn't? "

The look she gave her said it all. "Unfreaking believable." Haven stomped downstairs with Nikohlas.  The dog followed her happily.

"I can see she didn't take that well. "

Alex shook her head.  "Nope,  she was pissed. "

I laughed at that.  "Wouldn't you be"

She rolled her eyes.  "That's beside the point. "

"Kaz! Are you gonna cook?" Haven yelled from downstairs.

"I was about to! "

"Great I want French toast! "

"Make them yourself! "

"Awww I don't wanna yours are better"

"You're just lazy "

"Sooooooo"

I shook my head and smiled. This girl and her laziness.

'I just don't see it' my butt.  Any one can look and see it.  I've seen how Kaz has changed.  I've witness how Haven has changed too.  Maybe it wasn't all Kaz who had changed her,  I know for a fact Ziek played a part in it too.  But still.

A smile came to my face as I watched Kaz and Haven talk once again about her height.  Niko sits on my lap completely unbotheted by my human form. The moment I picked him up he called me Kitty. It's no wonder the hunters want him.  He has a special gift.

"Kitty what dat" he points to a flash of fur running by. The window.

I glance towards the place Kaz and Haven are standing before I go to the window.

Looking towards the top of the snow, I spot a grey wolf and immediately I know somethings going down.

"Ziek's in trouble." I say frowning at the wolf outside.
