+Kazimieras+
Haven really ought to learn to listen. I could sense her lack of control this morning. Maybe i should have just told her.
I scoop up the sleeping girl and unfurl my wings. Then I take off into the sky, heading back towards the house.
It wasn't long before I sensed them.
Their wings beating against the wind. Two sets of wings we're following me. Here comes more trouble.Focusing on the sound their wings make, I know one is Kyle. He's still a trainee, he won't be a problem. The other one is Bane. He's useless without Bruce. However with the death of his destined, I'm sure he has some issues to settle with the one who killed him, and he's always been determined. It was one of the good things about him. He didn't give up.
However, the one he'd want to fight isn't trained. Honestly, I bet Nickholas could beat her in a essence match. Especially right now. I cast a glance on her pale face. Her essence is out of control entirely. If they fought now, either Bane would win or she'd decimate this half of the town.
My only option is to evade them. I can't fight while carrying her. I'd be asking for a challenge.
"Kazimieras! Come fight us!"
I smirk at Kyle's command. He was always itchy to get his ass handed to him. I swear he never learns.
"Didn't I tell you to not pick fights when you can't win?" I flip around to face them, while keeping Haven safely against me.
"Is she the one who killed him? My brother?!" Bane's eyes glow an eery red. Hate is consuming his soul. Corrupting his essence. Yet another Fade has fallen to the darkness.
I feel a deep sorrow for him. Sadly when one loses a Destined, it's almost impossible to not fall into the darkness.
He takes my silence as a confirmation. "You know the laws against killing a Destined. The remaining one has the right to kill them. I have a right to kill her"
"No. The law says you have a right to fight in a dual. If she so happens to die then you will not be punished. However. Said laws also states that both fighters must be prepared and at their strongest. Does she appear to be at her strongest?"
A sick smirk creeps it's way to his face. "Why I'm impressed you know the law. Considering you broke it. Does it appear as if I give a damn about if she's prepared or not?" With that, instantly, he's in my face.
Foolish. Before he can even lay a hand on her, mine is wrapped around his throat. My claws digging into his flesh. He takes in a large gust of air from the pain.
Anger courses through my veins at the simple thought of letting him near her. The air heats up, the water evaporating from it. Hot gusts of air blows around. I feel Haven stir and bury her face in my shoulders. I pay little attention to her, focusing solely on the Fallen Fade in front of me.
"You will wait. Or I'll rip your throat out right here. I can't deny you your right to a dual, but she is my destined. Do not think I'll let you hurt her." With that threat, a surge of fire flows to my fingertips and burns the inside of his throat.
Shaking the blood off my fingers, I fly directly towards the sun, using a portal that only those of Fire can see. After passing through the portal, within seconds we're back at the house.
Upon entering the house, I spot Nikhokas curled up on the dog, both asleep. The cat greets us at the door, but almost as if sensing something is wrong she jumps onto the couch and looks at Haven. She inches her paw to her cheek and the next thing I know is that she sitting on my shoulder. Cats are weird. Especially this one.
