Kat's POV
After rescuing Adam, Tyler, and Alesa, we were finally able to return home. I pondered over the thought of where Jace went off to, but Sam told me he was the least of my concerns.
The trip to the hospital was our top priority.
Having to lie that we were in a hiking accident, two weeks passed before we were able to return home.
"Good to be back huh?" Tyler said as we exited the car. Alesa helped me with my crutches, for I broke my leg during the fight.
"Yea," Sam began," now I can pick on u all I want."
"Ow!" He tried to get out of her arm lock. The rest of us laughed at their rivalry.
"Time to make a sorry video..." Adam whined as he unlocked the front door. Alesa helped my crippled butt into the house.
"A sorry video?" Sam asked as she followed in behind me. Tyler facepalmed.
"We have been gone for almost a month and meanwhile Adam's only had a few videos posted." Alesa said. Sam on the other hand, still looked clueless.
"I hope that week plan of recordings actually went up..." Adam'a gaze shifted over to me as if he wanted approval to leave.
"Go." I laughed as he sprinted to his office. He does know I don't need help right?
"I should probably check too." Tyler said and said his goodbyes before leaving for his house. Sam helped me upstairs while Alesa went to go make some iced tea.
"Seems like it's been forever since I've slept in this bed..." She jumped on the top bunk in delight after I sat in my recording chair.
"Yea..." I drifted toward the window, my mind was still being haunted by what happened.
"So what now?" Sam broke the silence. I blinked away from the outside scenery and looked down.
"The end of a story huh?"
"What?"
Our eyes met and I tried to give off a warm smile. She returned with and uneasy look.
"Well, our story has ended. Our life up to this point has reached the end of an era." Sam swung her feet over the edge of the top bunk.
"I don't like where this is going..."
I held my hands up and shook my head.
"No no. I'm not saying that we are done with our lives. I'm only saying that one part has ended." My gaze shifted toward the window again. "Now we can start a new one."
"So you're leaving?" Once more I replied no.
"I would never leave you. Not again. Our friendship is too precious for me to let go." With that being said, I was suddenly held in a hug. I smiled and hugged back.
"Good." Sam said. I looked down and my smiled slowly disappeared. Determination grew for I knew that I was going to protect Sam from something like that again. Even if that special form still haunts me.
"One journey has ended and another is about to begin. What will happen? I don't know, but I do know that I'm taking that first step with you by my side..." I pulled away and looked straight into her curious eyes. This was it. The new journey was about to begin.
"Sam, I've made my decision."
