Chapter 5

Kat's POV

I was awaken by the sound of a car door slamming. Where was I? Then I heard voices.

"Adam can I talk to you when we get to our room?"

"Ok. Why? What's wrong?"

"Nothing. We just need to talk."

I remembered that I was still in Alesa's purse. We were probably walking into the hotel.
Wait? How long did I sleep? I hope not for very long. I would ask Alesa later, but now I had to worry about Adam. Would let me live with him? I know Alesa wanted me to because she look sorry for me when I told her about my parents. I guess I would have to find out.

As i was gathering my thoughts, I heard a door open. We must be at the room.

"Adam go sit down so we can talk." Alesa said.

"Ok then. What do you want to talk about?"

"I actually want you to see something first, but you need to promise you won't scream or freak out."

"Whatever you say." Adam said. I could hear by his voice that he was worried. Alesa opened her purse and took me out of it. She put me on the bed and said, "Go ahead Kat."

I look over and see that Adam was confused. Well, here it goes. I morphed into a human again. I started to talk, but only chirping noises came out. OH NO! It must've been 30 minutes that I've been in this morph. Witches can't stay in a morph that long or they won't be able to turn back. I tried to turn back, using all of my power when suddenly I stopped. I felt my body morph back into a human, but shortly after that I had fallen into a deep sleep.

Adam's POV

When we got to our room Alesa told me to sit down. I wondered what we were going to talk about. Was it our relationship? Please don't let that be it. I love her more than anything.

"What do want to talk about?" I asked.

"I actually want you to see something first, but you need to promise you won't scream or freak out."

"Whatever you say." I was worried and confused at the same time. What did she want if it wasn't our relationship?

Alesa took out a bird from her purse and put it on the bed. The bird looked at her then looked at me.

"Go ahead Kat." Alesa said. After a few seconds though she looked worried. Suddenly the bird changed into a teenaged girl, but she had blacked out. Alesa ran over and checked her pulse and sighed in relief.

"Thank god. She's still breathing."

"Alesa what the hell is going on?" I said trying not to sound angry. I was still surprised that this bird had changed into a human being, but I was glad she was alright.

"Well you see....thisiskatandsheisawitchsheisalsoyourcousin." Alesa said really fast that I wasn't able to understand her.

"Alesa say that again just slower."

"This. Is. Kat. And. She. Is. A. Witch. She. Is. Also. Your. Cousin."

"1 I understand the witch part because I just saw her go from a bird to a human. And 2 I would've known she was my cousin." I know all my cousins, but they all hate me. My parents would've told me about her.

"It's true Adam. Look." She took her laptop off the desk and showed me a family tree website. Under my dad's name was my name: Adam Dahlberg. I look over and see Kat's name: Kat Marlin. My dad is the great grandfather of her?

"We decided to call you two cousins since there is no other way to say it." Alesa said.

"I can't believe I have another cousin." I said.

"Adam she knows you very well. She watches your videos." Alesa said. I have a cousin that actually likes me!

"Um can she live with us? She is an orphan. Her parents died when she was 12 and she is 16 now. Kat has no other family member that loves her. That's why when she found out about you being her cousin, she came here to tell you." I saw the sadness in Alesa's eyes.

"She can live with us. We just need to make sure nobody finds out about her powers."

"Thank you so much Adam!" Alesa said as she came over and hugged me.

"Now can you watch Kat while I got get some dinner for tonight?"

"Yea! She is my cousin of course. Buy something good too."

"Ok bye!" Alesa kissed me and ran out the hotel room. I went over and sat down next to Kat.

"I love you Kat." I kissed her on the forehead. I put the blankets over her, I got my computer, and laid down on the couch. I edited a video and posted it. I started to cry because I wasn't sure if Kat would wake up. She was the only cousin that loved me. Before I knew it I had fallen asleep.
