Jayne's POV ~

I opened my eyes and glanced over Elise's alarm clock it read 5:50 am, letting a sigh escape from my lips I slowly emerged from the bed sheets trying not wake Elise up as I went to take a shower. After being stood in the shower letting the warm droplets cascade over my body I climbed out of the shower and pulled on my uniform after getting dried. I went back into the bedroom and saw Elise still fast asleep in the bed I smiled and left the bedroom heading towards the kitchen,

"Morning, honey" I heard her Mam say to me.

"Morning" I replied, "Do you mind if I grab a mug?" I asked pointing towards her own mug in her hand,

"No, help yourself" she smiled at me, "How you doing?" she asked suddenly, I looked at her confused and smiled,

"Elise told me about your granddad" she smiled sympathetically,

"Oh, well I haven't been home since my Mam told me" I replied,

"How come?" she asked curiously,

"Well, my Mam said I would just get in the way so Elise said I could stop here" I explained taking a seat opposite her at the table, "Are you okay with that?" I queried swallowing a mouthful of coffee,

"Its not only my house" she replied, "I don't mind Elise having people over" she replied walking over to the sink placing her empty mug in the sink,

"I'm gonna go and get ready for work" she muttered leaving the kitchen.

As belligerent as it may seem, even though my Mam has always been there to help and support me through my life I always feel like Carlie was an even better and more caring Mam than my own Mam; it really hurts me to say that but truth hurts.

Elise's POV

I shifted in bed between the sheet, turning over I expected to come face to face with Jayne but instead I came to an empty bed I sat up and edged out of bed and started to pull on my Uniform. Once I had finished getting ready and finished my hair I headed for the stairs. Just as I emerged from my room I bumped into Mam on the landing,

"Morning Mam, have you seen Jayne?" I asked,

"In the kitchen sweetheart" she replied kissing me on the forehead, "Be a little gentle with her she seems a little fragile" I took in her words and headed for the stairs. I entered the kitchen and saw her sat at the kitchen table with her back towards me I snuck forwards towards and wrapped my arms around her shoulders,

"Morning babe" I said to her kissing her on the cheek,

"Morning" she glumly said,

"You okay honey?" I asked her popping some bread in the toaster,

"Yeah, I'm great" she smiled trying to reassure me but the emotion on her face told me something different,

"Really, my Mam said you seemed a little fragile" I smiled at her as I crossed my arms and gave her a cheeky smile,

"I'm fine" she replied a little too forcefully,

"Okay I was just asking no need to bite my head off" I replied turning around to take my toast from the toaster,

"WELL, I'M OKAY SO JUST LAY OFF FOR GOD SAKE IF THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG I WOULD TELL YOU SO DON'T THINK YOU ARE THE VICTIM IN THIS!" she yelled and stormed off, I thought she had stormed off upstairs until I heard the front door slam, I shook my head and turned back to my breakfast,
