Sarah POV

Elise had just left the office headed for her biology exam; oh how I hope all of our hard work pays off. Charlene entered the room holding Fran in her arms playing with her,

"So Sarah you thought about my proposal?" she asked sitting in her seat still playing with Francesca,

"I have given it some reasonable consideration" I paused and looked at Charlene and saw the hope in her eyes, "I will take the reinstatement on one condition; on days where I have a few classes Francesca can come to work with me and as and when I need the time off" I said laying my cards on the table,

" Sarah I know you nurture this child as she was your own but I cant have a baby in my school our insurance doesn't cover babies especially in a lab" she said handing Francesca over to me, taking the small child I placed her on my knee and l bounced her gentle as I watched her smile and giggle as she bounced,

"I'm sorry Charlene I can't do it it's only 2 days a week I'm sorry but I have cut enough time from Francesca enough I'm asking for two days" she exhaled and looked me in the eye,

"I'm sorry Sarah there's nothing I can do I over looked the student teacher relationship and the baby situation, please Sarah we need you back" I sat there in silence as I contemplated what she said; I could understand what she was trying to tell me but I can't just leave her now; Elise has just gotten into the routine of not being there during the day with her but I hadn't not yet anyway,

"One day a week and you have a deal" I glanced at her hard face and she exhaled surrendering,

"One day, but make it a day when you don't have many classes" she replied,

"Charlene thank you so much you will not regret reinstating me thank you" I stood up and made my way towards my lab which I hadn't been in a few month.

I reached the door of the lab with Fran still in my arms; pulling the door open the smell of the cleaning fluid drifted past my nose and the odd smell of men's deodorant filled the room,

"This is where Mammy works on a daily basis, I get to watch and teach snotty teenagers and sit with Mammy E 5 hours a week" I was sat playing with her whilst she sat on my lap,

"This is the happiest I've seen you in a while" I turned to the door where a sheepishly looking Terri was stood,

"What can I say" I muttered to her watching Fran with every step Terri took closer and closer towards us,

"She's so pretty" she cooed she raised her arms, "may I?" she edged even closer towards us, I reluctantly handed Francesca over to her,

"You look the part" I joked; I still hurt knowing I couldn't have given Terri everything she wanted, it pains me knowing that I left her for a student but looking back through the past few months I didn't and haven't regretted any of it so far, Terri was the love of my life for 6 years and it just came down to there was nothing left between us,

"I have something to tell you" she muttered her eyes averted to Francesca as she contemplated telling me what she needed to tell me

"What is it?" I asked curiously her head looked up and our eyes met as she deeply looked at me,

"I'm pregnant" the words slid from her mouth; the first thing I wanted to say was congratulations but that's not what came out,

"What? How? Who?" her face fell,
