It had been 3 weeks since I had came home and found Jayne all banged up and bruised, she told me she had been walking towards the bus station to come home and a middle aged man had attacked her she claimed he had dragged her into the near by woods that surrounded the bus station and he beat her up, during the attack she told the doctors she tried to fight him off which would explain her shattered knuckles, there's also something she hasn't told me. Jayne had been very secretive the past couple weeks, she hasn't slept over as she would most nights and she has been avoiding my texts,

"Elise, are you paying attention to me?" I heard a distant voice bringing me out of my reverie,

"What?" I looked up and noticed Miss Gaunt addressing me,

"I'll take that as no" she exhaled and continued to teach the class,

"What's wrong?" asked Fred next to me,

"Distracted" was all I muttered to him,

"If you need to speak to me you know me and Michael are here" he smiled at me and stroked my arm. The bell chimed and I stood up slowly and headed for door,

"Elise, Wait there a second please" I heard Miss Gaunt yell over the commotion of stools across the floor and chattering students. Once the door closed and left us in private,

"What's on your mind?" she asked flippantly,

"What?" I asked curiously, "Why would you ask that?" she smirked at me and began slowly,

"Well for one there has been a drastic change in your work from both Miss Galley and my work and I noticed Jayne has been missing the past week" she paused and looked at me, "Have you had an argument?" she queried, I started to think about Jayne and everything she endured that morning I felt the burning of tears behind my eyes,

"That morning Jayne hadn't came into school when you passed her as you drove into school, she said as she was walking to the bus station she said a middle aged man had attacked her and beat her, I went home that night and found her covered in cuts and bruises, she was in a right state but I feel like she is hiding something from me" I sniffed and wiped the tears from my cheeks, "she hasn't been sleeping over as she would most nights, she has been ignoring my texts and I haven't seen her in a week, I'm getting worried" I collapsed onto a stool at one of the desks there was silence in the classroom, "I need some closure" I whispered,

"Elise I can't help with that you need to go home speak to your Mam" she approached the desk and sat on a stool opposite mine, "I can't offer anymore advice than that, but you do need to talk to her and see how she is coping" the lab door violently swung open and our head of year came walking in,

"I'm sorry I didn't know you were talking" she began to walk back out the lab,

"No its fine, we could do with some advice" Miss Gaunt said to her. I heard the door close and another pair of feet appeared under the table,

"Everything okay Elise?" she asked gently placing her hand on my shoulder,

"I know there is probably nothing you can do for her but, she says she is getting worried about Jayne she said she hasn't been speaking to her and not been replying to any of her texts" Miss Gaunt replied relaying everything to Mrs Macclesfield,

"You look horrid" said Mrs Macclesfield to me,

"I haven't a decent nights sleep in two weeks" I told her looking up at her fully,
