Chapter 21 - "How about now?"

Elise POV

It's been about a week since we had been and visited Sarah's parent's. Today was Jayne's funeral her Mam and Dad had phoned my Mam the evening we had been at Sarah's parents. I was stood in front of the floor length mirror, my hair was brushed over to the side flattened; I wore a pair of black trousers and a black buttoned down shirt and a black blazer over the top, a very masculine look but I liked it,

"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you?" Sarah asked from the bed,

"Babe I would love nothing more than for you to be stood by my side but I don't know who will be there the school could have sent some representative of the school and beside, Riley is going to be there also" I said walking over and laying down on the bed beside her, "It will be hard but-" I was cut off when Sarah's lips pecked mine she pulled back a fraction, her lips lingering in front of my lips before she kissed me again making sure to really mean it,

"I can be the representative of staff" she muttered into the kiss,

"Babe I would love nothing more than for you to be there but school and the board" I pressed snaking my arms around her neck,

"Fine" she playfully huffed as she walked off to entertain Francesca,

"Mammy E is such a bugger" I heard Sarah say in a baby voice;

I smiled at the sight but was stopped when my phone rang from my dresser,

"Hey I'm sat outside"I heard Riley say from the other side of the phone,

"Okay I'm on my way down" I locked my phone and walked over to Sarah and Fran I kissed them both on the cheek before heading downstairs and getting into Riley's car,

"Hey guys" I said Michael and Fred were in the back seat,

"You okay?" Fred asked concern melted in his voice,

"I'm fine, can we just go" I smiled at Riley as she removed the handbrake and sped off towards the church. We arrived and we all bailed out of the car and we were stood outside the church waiting for the priest to open the doors,

"Oh Elise dear" someone said behind me I turned around to come face to face with Tracy, "Oh Elise I'm so glad you could come" she embraced me in a hug but Jayne's letter popped back into my head 'my Mam and Dad threw me out' sketched on my mind forever,

"Good to see you Tracy" I replied hugging her back half heartedly,

"Elise I was wondering whether you could maybe say a few words honey" she smiled at me,

"Yeah" I replied I tried to keep my answers to a bare minimum I didn't want to speak to her the two faced bitch,

"Elise I know we haven't exactly spoke but please know I didn't want her to be kicked out, it was her Dad" her words stung me,

"Why didn't you help her then instead if leaving her on the streets" I spat at her,

"Her Dad threatened me if I dared go near her" she sighed just as tears began to spill from her eyes, "I would have left to help but he watched me all the time I couldn't escape it hurt knowing I was under a roof and she and Fran were on the street" she sniffed again, "How is Fran?" she asked,

"Fran is fine she has two people who love her very much and nothing can be done to break us up" I stood my ground, "now if you don't mind we would like to be left" I spun on my heel and faced Riley and the guys,

"See you inside" she whispered before slumping off towards members of her family,

"You okay?" Riley asked,
