Chapter 9

Katniss POV

(At the doctor a couple days later)

"How are you feeling?" I ask my mom

"Not well. The medicine hasn't been helping." She says sadly

"I'm so sorry mom. I wish none of this ever happened."

"Me either baby."

"Is there anything I can do to help you or make you feel better?"

"No I'm fine but thank you! How was school today?"

"It was good. Pretty easy."

"How's Gale?"

"He's okay. Still not as nice as ever but he has been leaving me alone."

"I'm glad to hear that."

"Yeah I don't know what his problem was."

"How's Prim? Where is she?"

"She's doing good, she has been having nightmares though. I don't know what of, she won't tell me."

"Poor girl."

"She always wants Peeta. Right after her nightmares she never wants me. Well she wants to wake me up at least but she likes to talk to Peeta."

"Oh do you know why?"

I sit down knowing this will probably be a long conversation.

"This is what I think."

"Okay go on."

"I think ever since dad died, Prim has been looking up to Peeta as a father figure or older male in her life."

"That makes sense."

"She is always very clingy to him and wants him to give her attention or comfort her."

"Sounds like Prim." She says making her self laugh.

I laugh also.

"That's why I think that and many other reasons."

Then the doctors walk in. Giving my mom a look over. They walk over to her and clean her stitches along with look at them to see if they are getting any better.

They then check her fluids and everything else attached to her.

"How are you feeling today?" The doctor asks

"Everything hurts." My mom replies

"Your stitches are looking okay but looks like it will be awhile before you can get it off. How is your arm feeling." The doctor informs her

"It hurts to move it. When am I getting the cast?" My mom asks

"Tomorrow. I'm going to have another doctor come in to check on everything else." The doctor replies

"Okay."

Soon I leave heading back to my 'home' for the next week.
