Always (An Everlark Story)

Chapter 3

Katniss POV

I wake up on the couch and see Peeta still asleep on the other couch. I slowly get up trying to be quiet, and make myself some dinner since I slept through lunch. After a couple minutes of attempting to cook something I see Peeta is awake.

"Hey Peeta!" I say

"Hey. Can you take me back to the bakery I think my dad might be worried where I am." He says

"Oh I thought you texted him?" I ask

"I did but idk. Can you please take me back over there?" He asks me again

"Yeah sure. Come on grab your stuff I'll go start the car." I tell him

I walk outside to the start the car and see Gale coming my way. He has the worst timing for everything.

"Hey Catnip. What's up?" Gale asks me

"I'm actually taking Peeta back to his house." I inform him

His expression changes.

"You two are always together." He says

"Okay, you gotta problem with that?" I say back to him

Usually he doesn't mind when Peeta and I hang out but I don't care it's not like Gale is my boyfriend or anything. It's like he is protective over me which is quite annoying.

"No, but why don't you hang out with me or Finnick why Peeta?" He asks me

"Because Peeta is my best friend and I've know him since freaking pre-k" I yell at him

That's when he walks over to me and kisses me right on the lips. I try to push him away but he is way more stronger than me.

I eventually build up the strength to push him off me.

"What the heck was that about Gale?" I ask him raising my voice

"I really like you Katniss!" He tells

"I don't like you Gale!!!!"

"Whatever! I know you do, somewhere in that heart of yours."

"Well think again."

He tries to lean in and kiss me again but this time I punch him down.

"Gale leave now." I say pointing the other direction

He stomps away. Then Peeta slowly comes out with his bag in his hand

"Let me take that for you."

"Thanks, my back is hurting again."

"Do you want me to get you some medicine?"

"I'm okay. Just want to get home."

I put his bag in my car then drive us to the bakery.

"You missed the turn Katniss." He says

"Oh! What! Really?" I say

" Yeah are you okay, you seem totally out of it?" He asks

"Yeah I'm fine." I say a little nervously

"Are you sure?"

"Mhm." I say not making eye contact with him

I turn around and this time drive us to the right place.

Eventually I pull up in front of the bakery, he grabs his stuff, then I walk him up.

"Remember to take your medicine!" 

"I will. Bye Katniss" he says

"Bye." I say walking out

After that I drive by Annie's house to grab my clothes then head home. I try to make dinner again but obviously I can't cook. So I decide to go grab some food from t a restaurant near by.

Later I return home and go straight to sleep.

Cliffhanger! Another update today because I'm bored! I'll most likely update tomorrow since I have school and I think I'm getting out early. Either way I Still probably will! Thanks for reading! Love you guys! Comment ideas!
