Chapter 13

Katniss POV

(At school)

"Hey Kat, over here!" Annie yells from a couple tables over. Waving me over to an empty spot in between Peeta and Glimmer.

I walk over just glancing at Gale at his table. I can see him out of the corner of my eye smirking as I walk bye.

I take a seat and open up the lunch box that I packed myself for today.

"How's your mom?" Everyone starts asking

"She is getting better. Her stitches are healing but her arm isn't doing to well." I say sadly looking around

"I'm so sorry to hear that." Annie says softly knowing that I might start crying.

"I hope she gets better!" Glimmer tells me grabbing my hand

"It's okay Katniss." Peeta says soothingly rubbing my back

Johanna and Finnick are at the table over talking about something. It's weird to see them talking since they are nothing alike.

"Thanks guys." I say truthfully, glad that I have them for friends.

Soon there is silence as we all enjoy our lunches.

"Has Gale been bothering you today?" Peeta whispers in my ear

I smile. Since this simple gesture shows how much he cares.

"No, but I can see him smirking at me." I whisper back

I watch as he turns his head to look at Gale. Gale pretends he was never looking at me starts talking to his friends. Peeta turns back to me and gives me a look.

"I'm positive he was looking at me. He stopped when you turned your head." I say quickly

"I believe you. I was just kidding." He says

Soon lunch is over and we go to the rest of our classes.

Once it gets to 6th period I tense up. Gale is in this class with me but Peeta is too. So I try not to worry to much since Peeta will be there with me.

"Hey Katnip! I'm really digging your outfit today!" He says smiling approaching me "or maybe I'm just digging you."

"Get away from me." I say backing away, walking to the other side of the classroom where my desk is.

He slowly edges closer and closer to me. Following me to where my desk is.

"Come on. We've been over this! Just date me already!" He says harshly

Everyone in the class which isn't many people because the bell hasn't rung yet are all staring. Not moving, or helping me, just watching.

"No." I say shortly annoyed and scared by his actions.

He keeps getting closer and closer as if to kiss me or hug me.

"Come on Kat just 1 little kis-" he says about to kiss me.

I slap his face away.

Then Peeta comes in, now he comes in. I run over to him.

"Was he bothering you?" Peeta asks me

"He was trying t-to kiss me." I say shortly

Peeta makes his way over to Gale who is pretty tall compared to him.

"Leave her alone. She doesn't want to date you so stop punching her into it." He says calmly

"You need to stay out of this. Your the reason this started." He says with anger boiling inside of him

"Just leave her alone!" Peeta says getting a little angry

As Gale gets closer to Peeta as if to slap him the teacher walks in.

"Gale Hawthorne. I always knew you were a bad student but this?" My teacher Haymitch (his first name) says

"Well Pee-" Gale starts but gets interrupted my the teacher

"I don't have time for tattle tales but the principal does. So if you could this note to him." Mr.Abernathy says writing a slip for Gale and handing it to him

Gales face is red as he glares at the students that are now all here. He walked out the door stomping his way all the way down the hall.

"Now I would like to start class if you don't mind." Mr.Abernathy says giving a look to all the students standing up.

Hah Gale!! Another chapter cause why not!
